Al is president of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America Texas Chapter and is a member of Austin Community College’s HART Advisory Board. He served the City of Austin as a member of the Zero Energy Homes Task Force and on the Energy Efficiency Upgrade Task Force.

Al holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Purdue University and UT Austin, and has certifications in energy auditing, building analysis, residential systems design, and air balancing
