Very good experience with McCullough Team and their technician Ryan Lake. I had signed up with them for their Premier Comfort plan last month and AC was turning off randomly. Their tech came in at very short notice and cleared the drain system and AC started working. Just when it got hotter, the blower decided to fail so I contacted them. Tech came on a weekend, diagnosed the issue and put in a request for parts right away. I was dealing with am emergency situation at home and could not approve right away. Home warranty covered this expense but I did not have time to coordinate things. Once I got approval, they came and fixed it right away. I appreciate their promptness and response emails from their customer service manager when she heard about my predicament. The only tough part is getting a hold of someone to talk to. 'Jane' , the voice assistant is very smart and responsive but takes a few tries to tell her that a human being is required. All in all a great experience - I would highly recommend this company for taking care of heating and cooling equipment.

Ivan and Ricardo arrived on time and ready to complete the job. They were obviously knowledgeable, and quite professional. They did not make a mess and cleaned up behind themselves. Therefore they accomplished the second most important job that day, they passed the "wife test". She was thrilled at the way they went about their work, and the way they cleaned up. In the future McCullough will always be our first phone call.

Great experience working with McCullough. Able to easily schedule and appointment online and add notes and get updates through their automated call service, which was surprisingly easy to use and always available. Our Tech, Craig, was helpful and guided us through the decision making process on the repair without feeling pressured or feeling like we were being up sold.

We have been extremely pleased with McCullough Heating and Air Conditioning from the beginning. They came on a weekend to fix our AC and discovered it was old and not repairable. It was during a heat wave and they immediately brought a window unit to make it bearable until they could install our new unit. I highly recommend this company. All of the staff from the initial visit to completion were, friendly, courteous, professional and just top notch!

I just had our spring/summer maintenance check completed by Blake who provided an excellent professional system check. He worked very organized and cleanly in moving from inside our home to the HVAC units outside with a status update of our system.

Excellent,thorough maintenance on AC system

Wow, just, wow. Let me first say how glad I am that we canceled our First American Home Warranty. Last time we had an AC issue, we were out of service for three weeks due to a fight between First American and their local provider. ANYWAY: We found our AC out at 1am on Saturday August 10th. To my shock, when I called the 24hr number, someone answered. Then they committed to a tech visit later that day. At 10am Saturday, Mitchell called me on his way. 1030, Mitchell arrived and immediately diagnosed the fan motor as having failed. With the parts supplier closed for the weekend Mitchell committed to follow-up on Monday and installation ASAP. 10am Monday morning Mitchell called me on the way with the new motor. By noon Monday we had cool air blowing - that’s 2 1/2 days - I am SO stunned! Thank you so much McCullough and Mitchell!!

We were extremely happy with Ryan Lake's approach to resolving an issue with our Carrier system that 3 other companies could not. We felt he truly liked his job, unlike 3 different company's employees we had before.

Blake was extremely professional from start to finish. He kept me informed throughout the entire repair process and explained everything he was doing along the way. He was punctual, respectful of our home, and cleaned up thoroughly after the job was completed. Great Service! I needed a unit fixed ASAP and another checked. Called the service line and had a great automated experience. No waiting on hold. Booked a service call for next day and I was kept up to date by text. Kyle arrived and was very polite and methodical explaining what was needed and the cost. Very simple and he cleaned up after checking the units inside. So thanks for a great experience.

When our 5 ton Carrier unit stopped cooling, Michael Mctaggart got us up and running again. Skillful attention to detail!

There was an issue with the A/C after a recent repair by a different technician. Michael Mctaggart arrived the same day and had everything working perfectly again within two days including replacing parts that may have been damaged by the issue at no charge. McCullough took complete ownership for the issue and made it right.

The A/C squirrel cage fan had self destructed and blocked the blower motor with family visiting so we did an emergency service call to McCullough. Michael Mctaggart arrived the same day, diagnosed the issue, and then returned to replace the fan and blower motor. Everything is now working well thanks to his attention to detail and skill.

I highly recommend McCullough. I recently purchased a Carrier Infinity System with Greenspeed technology. I knew I wanted a variable speed system, but I had a lot of questions. Evan took the time to educate me on the technology, give me various options, and helped me make an informed decision without pressure. I got multiple bids, and ultimately McCullough was the best option. Our installers Ian and Ivan showed up on time, went over what they were going to do, and got everything done in a timely fashion. The system itself has been wonderful. The Infinity is so much quieter, and we can finally hear each other talking! Overall I'm satisfied with both the system and the service.

McCullough has given us great service for many years. Today's (2026-04-27) summer season inspection was exceptional in attention to detail. In addition to all the required checks and settings, they hosed off the compressor. They concluded with a review of photos of all critical parts and their manufacturer-documented settings, compared to today's actual readings. They were within tolerance throughout. Thank you! Quick and efficient service, well explained. Update 2024-11-05, Joe was most helpful with a quick and thorough seasonal inspection. He also gave great advice on when to repair our now aging system.

Outstanding in every way a customer could want or need! The Big 3 for me: Thrifty-Friendly & Quality. am a retired attorney. I research everything, big and small. I knew the issues with my HVAC would be big, so I chose 3 local contractors to diagnose and give me bids. One no longer was locally owned. McCullough was not only the best bid, they didn’t try to oversell what I needed to make my system run efficiently. I also liked the representative who came out, and every single individual I interacted with during the process. I was signing a document that needed two witness signatures and the installers even, happily did this for this for me! I started to have noise issues, they were prompt in sending a qualified technician, and flexible about scheduling around me, not themselves. It was discovered that the blower motor was out of line, (a lemon) they ordered the parts, had them the next day and got the job done-right-around my schedule. Telling me what to look for if I had any future concerns or problems. I paid 50% less than the other better known (by heavy advertising) local firm, got 100% customer service, from skilled and friendly technicians, and an exceptional labor and products warranty, without any additional cost. I got the peace of mind knowing that they would be here for as long as I or a subsequent owner needed me. Also, the guys in the photos are actually the guys who come out!

I have the Comfort Club Premium membership on several properties with McCullough. Smooth process, always show up and on time. Left my last company due to repeated rescheduling last minute for service appointments which is very difficult to manage with rental properties. So I'm glad I never have that problem with McCullough. Pricing is reasonable as well. Worked with Miko for the first time today. Very professional, made a recommendation. Normally I pass on recommendations, but because I enjoyed working with him so much I went for it! 🙂 Can always trust the work gets done efficiently and that I'm getting the value for what I pay for.

Just had my Spring inspection with Lynell Greene of McCullough Heating and Air Conditioning. Although I had to replace a overflow safety switch, the seasonal inspection was great as usual. This HVAC system is primo. I love it! Lynell was efficient and very knowledgeable, answering any questions and providing information in a pleasant yet professional manner. At no time did I feel he was 'mansplaining'. McCullough has such nice Techs. Great staff, excellent products. Yes, I would definitely recommend McCullough. They are the best IMO.

Mike came over today and saved the day for our family, the units wasn’t working and Mike quickly identified the problem with my system, there was a rodent that had eaten the wires which he quickly redid the wiring then cleaned the coils and checked everything out. He also told me about it being a family owned and operated company and last one in austin I’m so glad and grateful mike and mcculough

McCullough Heating & Air Conditioning have been great to deal with. I purchased a new A/C and heating system from them in 2022. They were the only company out of several I contacted to give easy to understand options and were always accessible when I had follow up questions. My AC wasn’t working and the solution wasn’t immediately apparent, but Sean committed to solving the problem. He knew his stuff, pulled in others when he needed to, and explained things well. Everyone we have encountered over the years have been professional, skilled and a good representative for this company. We had our A/C maintenance scheduled. Blake was assigned to our call and texted us when enroute and arrived promptly. He explained the tasks he would perform and patiently answered all of our questions. He found a component that needed to be replaced on our 10 year old outside unit. This added a cost to the appointment but will no doubt prevent a potential outage this summer when nobody wants to be without AC. Blake got the component replaced and confirmed Unit was back in service and then finished the remaining tasks for the maintenance call. My wife Debie and I both enjoyed Blake's attitude and demeanor while he was providing our service. The A/C coil blew out on my 15-year-old A/C. After much gnashing of teeth, I decided to just go ahead and get a whole new HVAC system installed. I got bids from 4 different companies, each one gave me good/better/best bids. So I had 12 bids to chose from. I chose McCullough's "better" bid because of several reasons: a very strong recommendation from a neighbor, as well as price and warranty. But also because my salesman/site crew manager Evan was super knowledgeable and extremely easy to work with. In fact, Evan very patiently answered every question I had with very thoughtful and thorough answers. Again, McCullough's prices were very good, and the warranty on the Carrier system I chose was excellent. Unfortunately the installation had, well, a major hiccup -- McCullough accidentally installed the wrong system. Yes, that's obviously a huge red flag to anyone reading this review. But let me tell you this -- McCullough totally owned up to their mistake, and they bent over backwards to absolutely ensure that I would be a happy customer. Of course they swapped out the wrong system and installed the correct one. All along the way, *everyone* from McCullough was super-apologetic and as professional as anyone I've ever had over to work on my house. So yes, in the end, I'm a happy camper. The new 2-stage Carrier system works great (both A/C and furnace), and I feel like I'm all set for the next 15-20 years of Austin weather. Big shout outs to the following: Evan my sales guy and crew manager, both Ian and Ivan who led the install(s) on the two systems, QC manager Jimmy, and QC newcomer Clayton. Also the guys on the crews, especially the 2 who had to come back to do some additional duct work (sorry, I don't remember their names). Is it weird that I gave these guys 5 stars? Yeah, probably. But I learned a long time ago that mistakes like this can and do happen. We're all only human, and we all make mistakes. I just happened to be the unlucky customer this time. But as long as companies like McCullough own up to their mistakes, I'm happy to recommend them. Plus, I get to tell everyone the story about the time I had two new HVAC systems installed in my home over the course of 7 days lol. Thanks for reading.

In addition to his technical expertise, Blake was most courteous and accommodating when on our premises, coordinating with both our household residents--and our sensitive pets!--while servicing our 2-story, dual-HVAC system McCullough installed in 2009. We very much appreciated Blake's professional and personable demeanor. And all systems were signed off good to go! We have kept annual service all years since our McCullough installation, and it has proved wise to do so.

Richard Leyendecker and Arthur Villalobos did an incredible job installing a new system for my home. Even with very rainy conditions they were very diligent about keeping my home clean and did an incredible job on the installation and providing a thorough walk through of best practices to keeping it running like new for a long time. I reviewed 5 Austin area HVAC companies before selecting McCullough and am 100% confident I made the right choice. Evan Young on the quote side was wonderful to work with and provided quick responses to all of my questions. They were not the least expensive option but priced fairly and the work done by Richard and Arthur was well worth it.

My guy was quick and thorough. He has been with the company for 15 years. I have an agreement where they come spring and fall.

Finally an HVAC company that came up with an actual long term solution to what was causing continual issues with my air handler vs just putting an expensive bandaid on the issue just to come back every year. Dereck was on time, professional, efficient in his diagnosis and thought through a solution that no one else had suggested in 4 years of me owning the system. I will be switching my go to HVAC business to McCullough as I need long term solutions to address the core of the issue , not expensive temporary yearly services. Relieved I tried a new company this time around and called McCullough.

I recently had my annual A/C checkup done through McCullough's Comfort Club program, and was highly pleased with the work done by Jaiden Mendez. He spent around an hour looking at all aspects of the system, taking photos of the internal parts as well as external. Jaiden made suggestions on increasing the A/C's efficiency with a couple of parts, but he was not pushy. He provided a detailed inspection report as well as a list of the suggested parts and their cost. I appreciate how attentive to detail all the McCullough technicians have been over the years when it comes to our HVAC system, and Jaiden is right up there at the top.

Miko provided excellent, courteous, professional, expert service. He took the time to thoroughly and clearly answer my questions about my new Infinity system’s humidity control and confirmed that everything was working correctly.

Mike is great! I remembered a time when service providers actually came and spent time thoroughly doing their jobs and being technically proficient. Professional service level and expertise almost doesn't exist anymore. Everything is get done fast charge big amounts and get to the next job. Mike spent the proper time, did what was necessary and let us know if any potential issues down the road. I have a dwindling short list of companies that do this and these guys are on it.

Called with an emergency request (error code for blower failure). Though, he was unable to come that day, we arranged a plan and was able to determine the part was under warranty. He communicated with me on updates on parts and schedule. I appreciated his research and professionalism.

We have booked our yearly tune-up and review of our systems with McCullough. I called and scheduled the meeting and everything went smooth and well. The team showing up consisted of Thomas and Guillermo, which showed up on time and courteously called before hand. They both performed all necessary checks and answered, probably, a million stupid questions from my side (new to this whole process). They also took initiative to provide advice on taking care and doing routine maintenance work on our own to protect our system and take good care of it. I am so thankful the team servicing us is kind, patient, knowledgeable and willing to share their wisdom and advice. This is what customer service should be!
