Excellent maintenance service. Very friendly and professional folks from McColough. Appreciate the thorough check on our carrier system.

We had three A/C wish list items resolved easily and correctly by Shawn and the team. First, we had a humidity issue in our home and had a whole home dehumidifier installed (we love it). Second, we had the air intake for our unit evaluated and upsized. And third, our original metal ducting had old, deteriorating insulation so we had all the attic ducts re-wrapped and sealed up. We were really impressed with Shawn and the team. They were thorough, professional and helpful. It is obvious that McCullough has a team of folks with plenty of experience to get any job done correctly.

They were great, Makayla is excellent. Very professional and knowledgeable about the systems, and made helpful recommendations for lowering my utility bills on a go forward basis. I will definitely continue to use the company and would like her to be the point of contact for a winter check up.

Sean with McCullough was amazing. He worked hard and showed up fast in this Texas heat. He was very patient in explaining what went wrong. They had the parts available on the truck to save time. Will definitely use McCullough again!

Dillon came on Sun. at about 6:30 pm. He was so nice and spent a lot of time diagnosing my problem. Im new with McCullough and have had a great experience with Henry and Dillon.

Want to give a shout-out to Richard and Arthur for installing a new electrical/heat pump AC unit and an extra duct to our always-hot back bedroom. They did great work, especially considering the attic was 137° for awhile, but they stayed positive, professional, and worked hard. Thanks, guys!!

My AC fan went out late Tuesday night. They sent Josh out by Wednesday night. He had it up and running quickly. His truck was thankfully equipped with all the needed parts. He explained everything to me in layman’s terms so I could understand. He was very professional and courteous. He gets a definite 5 stars from me.

I love this company! My brother referred them to me, I used them in my and just used them again on my mother in Laws house. Every time they have worked with us, they have been very transparent and very honest with repairs, and most importantly, recommendations. If it does not need to be done, that is how it is explained, it is a “hey it would help, or might need it later, or it will help cool, but not a huge benefit” in short they show up and do the job they were called out to do, then discuss options. For example they pointed out our plenum (air distribution box) was undersized, (which is common in new houses to save money). It was a Potential overpressure point on the system. They quoted and recommended a new one. We did it, and it made a big difference in amount of air flow. We have had several companies up in our attic to work on the damper, do general maintenance and the like. Not one ever mentioned the size of our plenum. If you need hvac work done call these guys. They are prompt, fast, honest, and detail oriented. They will always be my first call moving forward.

Timely, professional service but expensive

I can't thank you all enough for helping us out diagnosing and correcting our issue so quickly. Jaiden was very honest and thorough, we now have some great working AC again. Will definitely utilize McCullough in the future!!

They checked everything. Hopefully solved the problem. Disappointed that I was charged a diagnostic fee for a unit that was about 7 months old. I hope this is not going to be a problem with Carrier air conditioners.

Henry quickly identified the problem, recommended and implemented the fix within one day during an emergency situation.

Shawn came out on the weekend and went above and beyond to service our ac on a very hot day. He seemed highly knowledgeable, and ran through a list of potential issues that he was going to investigate, found the problem, and then provided a thorough explanation of the issue and the fix. We highly recommend!

4.5/5 stars. First summer in our first home, and our AC was cutting off midday with no air reaching multiple rooms. We called a bunch of top companies beginning around Memorial Day, and McCullough was the only one to pick up the phone. Long story short, they concluded our system was ok, but our ductwork was shredded. Sales guy Pete came out same-day to issue a quote. He returned on a Saturday to measure vents and calculate heatload, and walked us through options for tackling a section of the house with no attic access. McCullough waited several weeks while we worked with a pest company to clear the attic, and then scheduled the work as soon as we said go. A crew came out and replaced all our ductwork and blew new insulation in one single day. Within 2 days, the system began short cycling (again), so we called back and McCullough sent Josh out next-day, who diagnosed a major drain clog, weak capacitor, and drain sensor failure and answered all my pesky questions about how to prevent clogs in the future. I question why all this didn’t come up during the initial diagnostics! Prepare for your issue to take multiple call-outs to fix and for things to cost a fortune (so you’re weary and give in to the maintenance plan?) but aside from that, they were super responsive, professional, flexible, upfront about challenges and structural limitations, and they ultimately did excellent, clean work in extraordinary heat to ensure we are comfortable in our home. If you need the pros, call them!

Thomas was very informative, and courteous. Did not feel pressured at all on choices for fixing my AC unit.

Our upstairs stopped cooling and we called McCullough after some friends had just used them. They showed up at their scheduled time and were able to diagnose the problem. They called about the warranty on my unit and unfortunately it had just run out in November. We had to wait a day to find the part and reschedule a technician to come back out for install. I recommend them and would use them again. UPDATE: The new compressor that the technician said I needed stopped working after 7 days. The technician who installed it mentioned it could stop cooling after 7-8 days and it could be a clogged filter. Thought this was a little odd but was glad to have cool air. After having this same technician come out 2 other times doing random things and trying to sell me services that were not needed we still did not have cool air. After the third phone call to have someone come out they finally recognized that maybe we needed a different person. They sent MATT DOWNING to my home and I cannot say enough good things about him and his work. He actually did a full diagnostic of my system, which the first technician never did. Unclogged a drain and replaced the filter the other technician said might be clogged, got the compressor working correctly (it never was and that filter should have been changed to begin with as part of the new system). He made sure that it was cold air blowing out of the vents before he left and communicated with me the entire time what was going on. He made what I thought were a couple of truthful recommendations and I was not charged for another service call. Before Matt came out I was never going to use McCullough again or refer them. I would have them service my system again now. It has been recommended that I would get better airflow if I put in new duct work. Current is 20 years old and disintegrated. Kyle Stirling came out and assessed everything. I agreed it was time and decided to move forward. Kyle was great to work with. Communicated well, very respectful and efficient. I feel confident in my choice and the work that was done.

Naser Berenji is top notch! He communicated his arrival time and arrived on time. He explained the issues clearly and provided recommendations. He fixed the issue and gave us a debrief on the work and associated cost. Very professional. (He was also really sweet to our dog!)

Dillon and Bryan were great. We had the upstairs unit that failed (perhaps a storm voltage surge) and the upper floor was unlivable. Dillon was scheduled the next day and he diagnosed the issue, did research on the parts that needed replacement and had them to us in a few days. He brought Bryan with him a few days later and got the replacement boards installed and the unit up and running! Mcculough cares about getting you comfortable as quickly as possible and so I’ve been with them for years.

Dillon Revells helped us identify and fix an issue with our AC that we have been having off and on for years. We've had other people out and none of them actually got to the root of the problem until Dillon. He zeroed in on what was going on very quickly and wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty, literally, and dig through mud to solve the issue. We are extremely happy with the results.

Shawn May came out as our service tech. He provided options and shot me straight with possible costs for short term repairs VS a full replacement. I fully recommend these guys for your next AC need. This was the 2nd time using the company.

HVAC experiences can be rough - this one was fantastic and the cool air is flowing once again!

Henry was great! As always, McCullough provides the best service for home maintenance services that I’ve found in Austin. It’s not even close to other companies.

I had two visits, back to back, for small separate AC issues. The technicians were very kind and professional. I appreciated that nobody tried to upsell me on anything I didn’t need, and would recommend this company if you have any AC issues! (Also the people who answer the phones are helpful).

I have been with McCullough for almost 30 yrs in our home with 5 A/C units. They have always been there for us. Today, there came through again! Our largest A/C unit (under warranty) stopped working yesterday. I called Chris before 8 this morning (who sold this unit to me), frantic, as we were hosting a large birthday celebration in 2 days- eek! He immediately responded (even though he is not in the service area), and set me up with service managers and parts were quickly ordered, picked up, and installed in one afternoon. James, the service tech, came to my home, waited over an hour for the parts to be delivered here, and installed them quickly and I was up and running! Party saved! McCullough people are superstars and lifesavers! I would never use anyone else. Thank you, McCullough!

Professional and fast service. Eric diagnosed my failing A/C immediately, had replacement parts delivered that afternoon, and serviced it first thing in the morning. They took in my A/C warranty and only charged me for labor.

Have used McCullough for about 2 years. Have found all their technicians and office staff to be professional, dependable and trustworthy. We have systems that are about 15 yrs old. And have made a few upgrades to help eliminate mold and dust concerns we’ve noticed, over all we found McCollough to be super informative and reasonable with their recommendations to address my concerns. Specifically, our technician Nick was super helpful and informative. They came out today to fix one of our a/c units kyle was great

Alex gave us the most information and comparison of product choices of the three HVAC companies we received estimates from to replace our unit. The technicians were prompt and finished in less time than predicted. The follow up visit by Jimmy was as scheduled and his check revealed the WiFi thermostat needed to be replaced which he promptly scheduled for the following week. They took care of all the rebates and provided the information about the tax credit filing. Great business to deal with.

I never knew my house could be cool all day instead of constantly fluctuating. My unit was under warranty so Sean was able to get the parts free and installed things quickly. Great value and they have earned my business from now on.

Technician Naser Berenji worked diligently to fix a major problem with my A/C system which cause the Ecobee thermostat to reboot repeatedly, thus not cooling my house enough. After several attempts, using various methods, he finally cleared the water drain line which had been clogging and causing the problem. I was very pleased with his work. Unfortunately, my A/C unit froze up the following day and has not been working since yesterday. That was discovered by another technician, Thomas Ischy, yesterday evening. He is scheduled to return today to finish the job. I'm awaiting him anxiously because I am burning up in my house and I need relief.

Great service from Dylan at McCullough Heating and AC. They were able to quickly schedule something for me. Dylan quickly diagnosed the problem and cleared a deeply clogged drainage hose. Amiable and professional service. Would recommend.

Dillon Revells is the BEST and I would give six (6) stars if I could! My drain line was clogged and it snapped at the attic unit. The threads to the fitting snapped in the attic unit. The sensor turned the system off and I needed help. McCullough sent Dillon to help me get the air going. The problem looked really bad. Dillon explained the situation and the possible costs to repair. It was a difficult looking situation to both he and I. Then, Dillon said he was going to try something radical. He went to his truck, got the tools he needed, and in less than 10 minutes was able to extract the broken threads and fix my broken line issue at minimal cost. Dillon then went outside and dug up my buried drain line and cleared it of the roots that clogged it. My weekend problem was fixed by Dillon in less than a half hour. If you want the best, please ask for Dillon. I am completely satisfied with the knowledge, work, workmanship, and professionalism of Dillon. McCullough is my choice service company and Dillon my choice technician.

Thomas did a great job on our mini-split. He knew what we needed, brought the part, installed it, and made another change that we suggested to prevent water releases from the unit. We are very happy with his work and his professionalism.

The most impressive thing about McCullough was the knowledge and professionalism of its technicians. The ease of customer service/scheduling department made the whole experience very easy as well. Not the cheapest option but for a reason, they deliver value in every interaction: phone, virtual, and in person. I was also in between travel for work and on a tight schedule. I had two technicians come out on separate occasions for the same issue, 1 to run a diagnostic and the other to conduct a leak detection and then replace the Evaporator Coil. I also had a sales rep come out to give me some options on replacing the entire unit. The sales rep was also technical and knew his stuff, he was very helpful in guiding me through understanding my options. At the end, the service manager not just replaced my evap coil for a reasonable price, but the technician helped me balance the outside unit, replaced the fan motor, and conducted other diagnostics included as part of the service. 5 stars all around.

Buying a new HVAC unit is never fun, but working with McCullough made it way less stressful than I could’ve ever expected. From the first diagnostic tech that came out ( I can’t remember his name 🙁 ) to the install team and especially the project manager Evan, everyone was super kind, professional, and patient with all my questions. Evan helped me find the right unit without pushing anything on me, and made sure it was something that worked for my home and my budget. The install went smoothly, and even after everything was done, the McCullough team followed up just to make sure everything was running smoothly and I was satisfied with my new unit. What stood out to me the most was the level of care and the personal touch the McCullough team provided. You don’t get it everywhere. If you’re dealing with this Texas heat and need a tune up or a new system, call McCullough Heating & Air. Seriously. I couldn’t recommend them more!

Thanks McCullough for a flawless smooth service. Alex S. led the way with helping pick out the best AC unit for my needs- the GE Connect variable speed - it is quiet, steady temp control and less humid in my house now. The team that put it all together and replaced duct work were also very professional and kind--thanks so much to Jordan, Ivan, Mark and Christian. Yall were awesome and worked so hard in hot temperatures. Lastly Jimmy came by 4-5 days later to do a quality check. Thanks, Jimmy. I will always call McCullough for any ac or heating needs i have.

Jaiden the techican was very through, respectful, courteous and clean after he was finished. however, communication from either he or the office or both could be improved, technician didn't arrive until 5:30.

I love this company! They put out real effort to get you scheduled for your routine maintenance, allowing flexibility to request either morning or afternoon service. Their technicians are friendly, polite and communicative., esp the one who came today! Nasar Barenji. He came early, was super nice, exceptionally competent and emphasized the critically important repair another one of McCullough’s routinely excellent technicians had recommended a year ago at my annual summer inspection that I could not afford at the time to authorize. They are all doing their best to help me extend the life of my aged HVAC system.

Henry is the best technician I ever met. He replaced our A/C compressor unit recently at my house. He did his best for making A/C works perfect without any problems. He even came back later evening for the unit to be completely dry. Now A/C works perfectly and even quieter and cooler. I am so happy with his work. Thank you Henry!

Sean identified my problem immediately—a backed up drain pipe. He blew it out, poured in a cup of vinegar and advised me to dig out around the outside pipe and fill it with some pebbles or rocks. My thermostat is working again and I have a plan going forward. Thanks, Sean!

We replaced our HVAC with a system we purchased from McCullough Heating and Air. The crew worked hard to install everything in one day. They did a great job. Their manager followed up the next day and signed off on the system. Very professional crew, I highly recommend them to any one considering replacing or repairing your HVAC.

Scheduling online doesn’t have an option for ac tune up so when the tech came out he was a little perplexed that my AC worked. He said that tune up would take a long time and have to be rescheduled another time but he gladly took $80 to say my AC doesn’t need Freon after poking holes in my ductwork. He was friendly and informative though. Not $80 friendly but maybe $10 for gas friendly.

This is now the third time I've used McCullough with a variety of problems for our aged AC system. This time the problem was bad enough we had to replace the entire system so we had the chance to interact with both the repair and installation sides of the company. Needless to say I was extremely satisfied with their service -- Our install team (Richard and Francisco) were absolutely amazing and worked non-stop all day in 90 degree heat to get us up and running. At this point I wouldn't trust anyone else with what I think is the most important utility here in Texas.

Only changed filter, but Eric came in with smile , on-time, and very personable with great attitude. Great Service Guy!

It did not start off well, I waited from 8-5pm only to find the service man wasn't coming. I was rescheduled for the next day. They did apologize. And the service man came before noon. The service was good.

McCullough is the gold standard as far as I am concerned. Tom Ischy was great, explained everything without "splaining" down to me. Just the facts Ma'am. From what I saw he works smart and efficiently, nice qualities in a Tech. If you need a new HVAC or repairs and service you can't beat McCullough! Honest, dependable, honor the warranty and everyone is so nice. My most recent McCullough experience: Friday13 sure lived up to its name for us. HVAC went out at about 11:30AM. I called McCullough as soon as I found the alerts in my email (maybe an hour later). Dispatch said they would try to have someone out by 5PM, but it was a busy day and the appointment was pushed back to 5P-8P. Tom Ischy showed up around 6PM and had the situation diagnosed by 6:20P. He explained the situation and was gone by 6:30PM. Unfortunately a part had shorted and fried, so it and its smart board would have to be ordered. I realized that since it was after hours the order would not be handled until Monday. The part arrived at my house on Tuesday. I called to schedule the repair. They were all set, waiting to hear from me and squeezed me into the schedule. Tom came out again around 6:20P, made the repair, reset everything and was gone, oh, maybe an hour or so later. We all did the happy dance and began closing windows and turning off fans as the house began to cool down. BTW the Comfort Club is a nice option.Yeah, it has a yearly or monthly charge, but from my experience is definitely worth it. Yay McCullough!

Desmond Lopez was the tech that diagnosed, repaired, and tested our system. He is a capable and courteous young man that is a valuable asset to your company. _______ Sheldon quickly diagnosed and repaired a leak under the air handler caused by a recently-installed PVC drain that was glued. water damage to a wood floor in an adjacent room alerted us the problem. Perhaps we should have ‘called a plumber’! Thanks ______ Problems were resolved, professionally — Thank you. 6 months after installation of the 2-speed Carrier heat pumps, the summer, fall, and winter comfort factor is far better than our previous units - thankful. Annual maintenance - needed noise abatement between air handler & coil on one unit - work to be scheduled. noise abatement between air handler & coil on one unit was completed by a very competent service tech - James _______ Deandre performed scheduled maintenance on two units - replacing a capacitor on one (under warranty) and diagnosed a vibrating noise inside as a loose vent. We use McCullough for our annual inspections for heating & cooling. We were lucky enough to have Brian as our tech for this year's cooling checkup. After mentioning the air conditioning drain (which runs through the master bath sink) needed a bit too much Draino this spring, he cleared all the backup which turned out to be more clogging than expected. It's that extra step that keeps us coming back. Thanks, Brian.

Junior De Jesus was the best McCullough service person we’ve had over the past few years. He was kind, courteous and one could see his experience, offering very helpful info. He also helped us program our EcoBee thermostats to our desired specs, and was kind enough to change out our whole house filters and carry away the used ones…. McCullough and Jesus are awesome!! McCullough turned out to be a pleasant surprise after having used both small and large HVAC companies in the past. The service tech, Sean was on time, experienced and professional. He worked hard at diagnosing a complicated (not easy to diagnose) problem with my AC unit. He answered my questions during the whole process and gave me an estimate prior to doing the repairs. I liked the way he was supported by other techs while he worked to fix the problem. I would recommend McCullough for your HVAC problems because their service felt like a small company but with a large company’s expertise.

Replacing my over 20 year old HVAC system was something I had dreaded since I bought my place. After the system finally failed, my home warranty company set me up with a hack company with a 1.7 star rating on Google, then hung me out to dry. I went looking for the most reputable company in Austin and found McCullough. Evan was our project manager and he was wonderful to work with. He and the team answered all of my questions, and sold me a reasonably priced system that wasn’t too much for the needs of my small, older place. Jordan was awesome during the install, explaining everything as they were doing it. The whole crew kept my house clean, and they even sent someone out to do QC and teach me about the system. If you want an honest company who shows up when they say they will and actually cares about customers who are living without A/C in the summer heat, look no further.

McCulloch has taken care of us for at least eight years. They put in this new unit when the old one went bad. That was also a holiday weekend, and they put in temporary window units to get us through. Also a remarkably hot summer. They came out today, to check on an odd noise. They discovered nothing really was wrong, but I am very relieved at having professionals support our system. Especially in this age of global warming.
