McCullough was able to schedule my AC "second opinion" appointment for the morning after I called. Shawn showed up to my rental property promptly, did his inspection and called me twice to discuss his findings and his recommendations. I appreciated his courteous, professional advice, and will call McCullough again if I have a similar AC issue.

McCullough came responded quickly, came out to assess my H-VAC system, gave me a quote on each component separately. Sent a contract via email, scheduled the rapair quickly and came to do the work when they said they would. Responsive business.

Motor failed on electric HVAC system, called into MCCullough and was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. Desmond arrived after 30 minute notification, professional and very knowledgeable he verified problem, provided short time fix while we waited for part to arrive and rescheduled repair for following Monday. Again Desmond was very courteous and professional, changed out motor and checked system to make sure everything was in working order. As a still privately owned HVAC company in Austin wouldn’t hesitate to have McCullough to do yearly checks and repairs. Thank you.

McCullough Heating & Air Conditioning Great Company Prompt and efficient Service.

We have used this company two other times for complete AC and heater installs at other houses. They are professional and do a good job. We have felt their prices were competitive and fair. Their installers take care to keep the area clean with drop cloths and shoe covers. They wear masks and use good Covid precautions. We will continue to use their service. Update: McCullough tech, Mitchell Reaves, did our annual inspection of our heating/cooling system this week, He was efficient and pleasant. He checked out our two systems and answered all of my questions. This annual inspection was part of our contract for maintenance that we pay monthly and is reasonably priced. We will continue to use this company.

Junior was awesome. Took time to explain what he was doing and things that he was concerned about. That way there aren’t surprises in the future. Very personal and nice as well.

I've had McCullough for several years to maintain my AC and heat unit. They send me a reminder and I pay for the maintenance monthly which makes budgeting easy. Dillon phoned prior to arrival and showed up on time. My annual maintenance went smoothly and Dillon explained what he was doing the entire time. I would highly recommend this locally owned business.

Can't comment on quality of installations or repairs, but I can tell you about my experience trying to get a quote. I've already had my HVAC diagnosed more than 4 times over the last 4 years. I know my evaporator coil needs replacement. I know the make, model, and even the serial number. All I want is a quote to compare against other HVAC companies. When googling, I came across "Free In Home Estimates" for this company. I have them a call and was told there would be a $75 trip charge and diag fee. I replied that I do not need a diag. I can show pictures of the oil leaking and the serial number tags if they like. It's already been diagnosed 4 times and no technicians had conflicting stories. I need an evaporator coil. Many HVAC companies will charge you a trip fee, come out and look at it for 5 minutes and then try to sell you a $20,000 new system that should cost less than $10,000. I am kinda of tired of playing that game. If you want my business just tell me what you charge for the service! So, I hung up. Fair enough. You have to drive and you want a trip fee so as not to waste your day. I get it. I don't agree. That could be that. However, I get a text and two voicemails after that saying "sorry for the confusion. I asked around and we can give you a free second opinion. Call me back" So, I call back. I am then told it would only be considered a second opinion if I provided up front the record and quotes from the other companies. Well, that defeats the purpose of shopping for quotes, doesn't it? Have you seen how people bid on the Price Is Right? So, we circled back to the $75 trip charge. Anyway. It's spring and hovering around 60 degrees. I managed to get a free diag from three other companies immediately after I hung up. I'll choose the one that communicates the most clearly with the least amount of B.S. to do a job that costs thousands, for which there seems to be same day availability.

We had an issue with our heating system during the recent freeze and Shawn was able to quickly identify and solve the problem.

The best way you can tell a top notch service in my opinion is how they handle a situation when it goes wrong. Due to incompetence from a general construction contractor who did work on our building last year some AC units were misplaced and mislabeled causing work to be done on a wrong compressor unit than the one intended which was nearby. The service manager himself answered the call promptly and professionally, fixing the situation and made everything right the very same day. Joey the manager was polite, friendly and professional. He provided several options and full warranty on the necessary repairs. I will definitely use this service in the future for HVAC installation or service.

From start to finish they were very professional and went above and beyond. On the sales side, I found it hard to peel back the layers of each company and decide which one to go with for my new A/C unit. Alex was great on the sales side, helping me understand the differences between units and ensuring that I had the best one for my house. He had been in the business for a long time and could tell he even knew his competition well. He gave me the best price and the best overall service. Not to mention the install team was great and easy to work with. Today, I just got sent a gift from Tiff’s Treats from them and it made my day. All around great company to work with!

Nick came out and diagnosed the problem with my 14 year old heater very quickly. He gave me options to repair or replace. He was prompt and professional. Follow-up: (a few months later) I called to have my heater fixed and Junior de Jesus came out and repaired my issue. He was efficient, had notes from Nick’s visit to give him a place to start from and completed the repair flawlessly. He was super-nice too. Both Nick and Junior spoke to me like I’m an intelligent person; no ‘mansplaining’ here! They were also dressed professionally. I highly recommend calling McCullough if you have any issues with your a/c system.

We have had some issues with bedrooms being either to cold or to hot since last our new system was installed last August. Alvin the service tech came in and quickly made some adjustments to our duct work dampers. He is going to talk with his supervisor regarding doing some additional testing on our duct work.

A great experience with McCullough last month. I have an older Lennox furnace that I am trying to get one more season out of and I needed some troubleshooting because it was working fine but shutting off intermittently. The service call I received from McCullough was exemplary. The tech took time to really inspect and diagnose what the issue could be. He also listened to me to understand what had already been attempted to fix it. After a short time he solved the problem. It was actually a simple, analog fix yet 2 other companies who came to look at it completely failed. McCullough did the right thing and actually repaired my unit. They are now first on my HVAC referral list. The 2 other companies that came to look at it were a disaster. One of them just basically threw a part at it without any sincere effort to perform a diagnosis. The second company was even worse as their 'tech' was only interested in selling me a brand new HVAC system and essentially pretended to inspect my furnace and said it was beyond repair. In contrast McCullough really helped me out. Their tech did also discuss the need for eventual replacement (its a 27 year old HVAC) but he did it AFTER repairing my furnace and in a way that didn't insult my intelligence. When it is time to replace my entire system, McCullough has earned the right to be my first call.

Alvin was really good at his job. He showed he cared about us and the type of work he did.

Heater temperature wasn’t getting hot and Alvin came and got it working again. He was professional, courteous and fixed it quickly!

I have the deepest appreciation for Alonso and the full McCullough team. My home wasn’t heating during the freeze, and Radiant told me that my entire HVAC would have to be replaced and quoted me $15,000. Thankfully I had some good folks around me who told me to reach out to McCullough for a second opinion. Not only did they show up the next day, they confirmed my system was in good working order, adjusted my thermostat to ensure that the home would continue to heat, and did it all for free. This company truly puts the customers interests first, and doesn’t use a hard situation to try to scam someone out of a sum that is equal to the down payment of a house. McCullough has earned a lifelong customer.

It was a necessary visit to get the ball rolling on a solution to a problem for which no one has offered a solution in the past six years. Their visit led to a visit from Troy later in the day, who was able to identify the problem and a solution that is significantly cheaper than replacing all of my heating ducts.

Mr. Mitchell Reaves works for very reputable and the best company McCullough Air and Heating in Austin. He took care of the A/C ductwork issue I had. I always ask for Mitchell to take care of the problems. He scheduled appointment same day and knew the problem immediately and fixed it in no time. He explained thoroughly and in detail the issue of the HVAC before fixing it and after it was fixed. He is very professional, very knowledgeable and very experienced and gives customer care quality/advice/service. The system my dad has was installed back in 2010 by McCullough and they have serviced the system since then...I have always been more than satisfied...this specific service/repair event, even more so...the heating kit on the Auxiliary system was no longer working and a new one was ordered...this is the system in my 86 year old father's home, so his warmth is paramount to me...the new heat kit was faulty and the service tech and McCullough coordinated finding a replacement and searched the city and found one...all was completed by 1:30pm and well before the storm hit...my dad's home maintained a comfy 72 degrees...I am very thankful and appreciative...

Highly professional organization. Suggested the optimal system replacement for an upstairs unit, as oppose to the most expensive. Suggested repair for another unit as oppose to replacement. Customer centric.

McCullough recently replaced our garage apt split unit. Then we had a full home inspection where the unit didn’t heat up. Nick with McCullough came out and explained these units are very complex with certain delays when turning them on. The inspector had not waited long enough (5-10 mins) for the delay process. Another quality job and product from McCullough at no charge to educate the customer on the new HVAC advances. Works perfectly.

Junior from McCullogh Heating & Air fixed the errors made during the A/C and heater installation in September. He correctly seated the motor and removed the paper User Manual that was stuck inside the gas heater. He turned up the fan volume and reset the error code. The fan now sounds like a gale force wind running through the vents. I wonder if the fan volume could be reduced and the heater still work properly. The extra dust blowing through the vents is stirring up my allergies. Junior, thanks for coming out!

Mccullough always comes thru for me. Purchased new Carrier about 4yrs ago from them and they handled all the warranties Austin permit and rebate. Plus Electric company set up. Setting up a service call they give you an all day window but service will call a few minutes ahead to give you a heads up. I do wish they could at least say morning or afternoon tho when i schedule.

Mr Sanchez showed up timely and was most knowledgable about my HVAC system. He found problem with sensor almost immediately and was able to provide estimated cost of replacement. He gave me an outlined plan of action and later followed through. Very professional and helpful. Thanks, James!

I had noticed on my walks that the family lived in my neighborhood and thought I should try them. The company I had been using before my last switch lied to me about needing an expensive repair I didn’t need at all. I have a maintenance service contract.with McCullough. I like the work they have done. I’m comfortable doing business with my neighbor.

He was very knowledgeable and shared that knowledge with me. Great tech! Install team arrived on Friday for replacement of A coil in unit in the attic. Ricardo and Adrian did great job. Another problem arose with compressor. It had gone out. Joey came back and replaced the outside unit, making sure my wife and I had cool air for the weekend. He stayed until he was sure everything was operating correctly. We were pleased with the great service! 9/18, Joey came back to check levels from work done last week and recommend added fixes to get the system to peak performance. He provided estimate of costs and what these improvements would actually do. As always, it was a pleasure dealing with him.

Prompt, consistent service

Our AC went out on July 4th. They sent Nick out the very next day before 10am and he diagnosed our problem. He was very polite and explained everything in detail. He had a sales rep come out and go over our options. All this company does is AC repair and they really seem to know their stuff! They are very reasonable, honest and genuinely care about their customers. I received a sweet treat from Tiffs Treats after my installation. These guys know how to please!! It's New Year's Eve Eve and we have guests coming for dinner on the hottest December 30 ever. Time to turn on the air conditioner to make sure our guests are comfortable. The system is not working. A call to McCullough at 4:00 pm and good news - they have a crew working tonight. Joey arrived right on time and went to work to determine why our HVAC system wasn't working. Joey was done in 15 minutes and back out the door. Joey is a pro, pleasant and explained in plain words what went wrong.

Junior De Jesus was the best McCullough service person we’ve had over the past few years. He was kind, courteous and one could see his experience, offering very helpful info. He also helped us program our EcoBee thermostats to our desired specs, and was kind enough to change out our whole house filters and carry away the used ones…. McCullough and Jesus are awesome!! Technician DeAndre Rodriguez assessed my HVAC unit at the house the other day. He was incredibly knowledgeable with his craft while also being very kind and understanding.

The installation went great and the installer Gilbert Garcia was very knowledgeable and friendly. New system is working so much better and I am very pleased. They also sent someone to QAQC the install and answer any additional questions. I would definitely recommend McCollugh for your AC/Heating needs.

Joel Galvan was a consulate professional. Very courteous and eager to answer my questions when I asked. Allowed me to follow him around and ask questions along the way. We had a large and present AC issue, Joel showed up, diagnosed the issue quickly, and was back in a couple days to fix it. He was reassuring and we've got a working system now. Mitchell diagnosed the issue efficiently, provided a temporary solution while a replacement part was en route, and fixed the issue as soon as the part came in. No surprise, whole house HVAC systems are expensive! I had mine replaced in 2014 and have been enrolled in McCullough's HVAC service program for the past ten years. Their service technicians have always been outstanding, and on my recent furnace checkup, Alonzo Olivas was no exception. I couldn't have asked for a better person to do the work. He was very friendly, thoroughly professional, and did not rush through his checklist. Alonzo gave me a written estimate on an additional service item that he said could become an issue later in time, but he was not pushy about it. I recommend anyone who needs a new HVAC system, or who is looking to have their present system serviced, to contact McCullough Heating and Air Conditioning.

I called McCullough on a Friday morning because our upstairs heater was not working. I wasn’t in a hurry to get it fixed as we had another unit. However that one stopped working shortly after I called. I called back to let them know we now had no heat and the got me on the schedule for that day. Dereck Vizcarrondo called me within a couple of hours to let me know he was on his way. Luckily it was an easy fix and he had both units running quickly. Dereck was very knowledgeable and professional. He could have told me I needed to replace some part or tell me it was something major but he didn’t. He was honest and did a great job. McCullough Heating and Air has never let me down.

I put in a new unit some years back and signed up for the winter/summer checks. This was one of my smartest moves. I've kept up the program for their checks fall and winter for quite a while now. DeAndre Rodriguez is extremely thorough, explains everything he checks and has the pictures to show me. He also replaces my filter for me, it's in the attic and not a fan of getting up there. Thank you for being an honest, personable and thorough company! I give McCullough (and DeAndre) 5 stars!

McCullough provided a service inspection of the home heating and air conditioning systems. DeAndre arrived on time and performed the work efficiently. Several components checked were inspected or tested. Results were explained and provided in a detailed summary report. A recommendation to improve air filtration was also provided. I was very satisfied with this appointment and will do it again next year.

Honestly I had the best experience that I've ever had with a service call involving maintenance or evaluation of any home system. The service technician was knowledgeable, courteous, and most of all honest- I dread being oversold anything or pushed to upgrade when not needed, and this gentleman was the opposite- he simply suggested what was actually needed.
