We had an excellent experience with McCullough heating and air. Our 7 year old Carrier Infinity AC system broke down and it was still in warranty. Another company whom I had been using quoted - 6 to 8 weeks for repair and we started considering replacing the system.

I called McCullough for estimate for new system and their representative Kelvin suggested checking for repair first and setup us for repair service call.

Mathew came for repair, he checked what parts (compressor, inverter board) had to be replaced, got them from Carrier the same day and installed them and fixed the system in the same day (and much less than the cost that other service was quoting).

Josh was great at explaining what the AC issues were, and did attempt to blow out the clogged line.Unfortunately it was a main line clog and required a plumber to complete the fix. The price was a little high since I had to add a plumber’s labor to the overall cost, but it was an after hours service call we were glad could be made.

Christian was knowledgeable and provided a detailed explanation of why the AC unit wasn't cooling well. Before any repairs were approved, he gave me pricing so I could decide whether I wanted to proceed. $582 for a refrigerant leak search and $196 per lb for refrigerant. This is my first time dealing with AC issues, so I'm not sure whether the price is good or high. Overall, Christian was efficient and provided excellent customer service. Thank you!

I had a problem of water collecting in my AC pan and called McCullough HVAC who had installed the system last October. Jaiden Mendez was sent out to diagnose the issue. He initially informed me that he wasn’t sure what was causing the water to accumulate but he had tried something—he told me to keep an eye on it and call back if it continued to leak water into the pan. Sure enough—the problem persisted so Jaiden came back out and pretty much disassembled the whole attic unit looking for a solution. He finally diagnosed a faulty part and said he would order one and hopefully be able to install it in a few days. He then reassembled everything so I had a working HVAC until then. A few days later Jaiden was back working for hours in my hot cramped attic installing the new part. I’m happy to report my pan is now dry as a bone. I really appreciate Jaiden for persevering and diagnosing a difficult problem and following through to get it quickly repaired. He also did a great job of cleaning up after himself. Thanks Jaiden!!

Will did an excellent job performing my first plumbing evaluation on my home as part of my comfort club membership. I got my preferred first AM slot. He called me when he was on his way, so I would be prepared. He did his work in a timely manner, and was very efficient. Sam did a great job diagnosing my AC and doing a tune up. He also gave a thorough explanation of doing preventative maintenance for a capacitor that was right at tolerance.

I needed a complete HVAC replacement as well as hot water heater. I got a very quick visit from Peter D'Andrea, the same day. He was incredibly nice, knowledgeable and professional. I got a great quote the same day too.

As it turned out, I went with another company for a few reasons, but I'd be quick to use McCullough again as I was very impressed with them.

Christian Lambreras did a great job diagnosing the issue . He and the McCulloughTeam are always knowledgeable , extremely courteous and answer all questions promptly.

I was out of town and was contacted by my Nest thermostat that the system was running but the temperature was not dropping. Before leaving town I had noticed the compressor was making an unusual and louder than normal noise. I was preparing myself for the possibility of having to replace the compressor or the entire outside unit.

Today Sam Marquez came and diagnosed the problem as a failed capacitor. He replaced it and the unit is now my 10-year old unit is cooling just fine. I was mentally prepared to pay 10-15 times more than I had to.

When our air conditioning went out, a different company quoted us more than $15,000 for a full system replacement, saying they were not able to order the parts for our system at a reasonable price or in a timely manner. We then went to McCullough, and they quickly diagnosed the problem and completely fixed it on the spot for less than $400.

Matthew was great. He didn't try to sell me a replacement for my 18 year old system, but set right to work evaluating it. After an hour or so of work, things are back up and working. It's great to have a tech and a company that want to solve problems and not just push new equipment.

Blake provided amazing service! He fixed the issue with one of our units and helped diagnose and repair a similar issue on the other one. What we expected to be a painful experience was a breeze and the prices were very competitive!

I previously gave a good review to McCullough. Unfortunately I have to reverse that review. AFTER spending close to $3000, the repair didn't even last a month. We are back to square one with a new estimate of $6000 plus to fix my home AC. At first the technician who worked on the AC unit said it was hard to find the spot where the refrigerant was leaking. After supposedly fixing that leak, another leak was discovered by a 3rd McCullough technician when called to check the AC unit less than 5 weeks later. Now the price is $6000 plus with no mention of the poor workmanship done previously or the money that I paid. There isn't even any warranty for their service. I have no intention of employing the services of this company anymore.

He was honest about what actually needed to be fixed and didn’t try to upsell us on anything we didn’t need, which is hard to find with home repairs. We can’t say enough good things about McCullough Heating & Air. We purchased two new HVAC units from them last year, and from the initial consultation and installation to their outstanding follow-up service, they have exceeded our expectations every step of the way.

After weeks of 100+ degree temperatures here in Austin, one of our units developed an issue due to a manufacturing defect. One quick call to McCullough was all it took and they responded immediately. When the first repair didn’t completely solve the problem, they had another crew out the very next day. Had another fantastic experience with McCullough! Upstairs A/C went out. Called the automated system, set up service call, here within 24 hours. Technician Eric Suarez was a rock star! Diagnosed the issue within about 20 minutes after a thorough inspection. Lucky for us it was a fixable issue that he had parts for in his truck. He replaced the parts, performed a complete working assessment and has done in under a hour. He was super professional and courteous. A really genuinely nice person too. Super happy with Eric’s service! Y’all need to take good care of him at McCullough!

We had Alvin out to service our house and couldn’t recommend him enough. After taking care of our initial request he took the time out of his day to show us preventative measures as we had recently moved into the house. Fantastic service and will definitely be going back for HVAC needs.

Had Matej come by to diagnose an issue with plumbing in our sink. He provided thorough options and explanations to fix the issue. Got us all squared away in a couple hours. Another great experience and happy that plumbing is now under the umbrella of repairs!

AC cycling on and off. Mike came out and quickly identified the issue (clogged drain line). He cleaned it out and also inspected the rest of the system and found it in good shape, just down one pound of refrigerant. He clearly explained everything and provided tips to keep it running properly. Mike was fantastic!

Didn’t end up using McCullough though I wished I did, as they could have gotten parts faster but were honest about repairs needed and similar costs as Stan’s (Stan’s a couple hundred dollars cheaper, but took almost a week to get parts). Cheaper isn’t always better when you’re hot and have no AC. Recommend McCullough for honest quotes and helpful techs that won’t try to scam you.

I contacted McCullough to have my aging hot water heater assessed and get replacement quotes for a new one. They sent their delightful plumber Matej Bzdil out to do the job. Matej throughly checked out my existing set up and explained what kind of replacement options were available to me. We then discussed the rest of my plumbing and any concerns I had, Matej even assessed water pressure and cleaned out the aerators in my faucets as we progressed through the house. Matej was not trying to sell me anything or find additional work for himself, he was genuinely interested in understanding me and my plumbing set up. He was unhurried and patiently answered all of my questions. It was a breath of fresh air after dealing with so many plumbers over the years who immediately begin with a fear mongering campaign/high pressure sales pitch. I never thought I would look forward to working with a plumber but here I am! Matej and I also discovered a mutual love of Boxer dogs and Austin Boxer Rescue, which always earns extra points in my book! McCoullough is a family owned company and it shows in every interaction I’ve had with them, both plumbing and HVAC. Are they the cheapest option? No, but you know what, I’ll gladly take my savings in quality workmanship and ethical business standards.

Understand that I am classified as elderly by age. My house is 75 years old. I have lived here 32 years. Within 5 years of moving in, I bought a new Goodman system which lasted > 20 years. I bought this new system last September. So when my HVAC unit was no longer functional at 2:30 PM on Saturday, I started making calls. First I called the company that installed the unit September of 2025. They only had a recording that said they'd be open on Monday. I had had a problem in April. That company did respond and cleared out the condensation conduit, a problem which I'd never had with the old system. The unit worked fine until Saturday. So I started calling HVAC repair companies. Another company responded that they could come between 8:00 PM and 12 midnight. They responded and indeed, discovered it was the clogged condensate conduit. However, he was unable to definitively locate the terminus of the line, which was understandable. Nor was he able to clear the conduit. He recommended the condensate pump. He, too, did satisfactory work. I lost track of all the calls I had made, so when Josh said he was on the way on Sunday ~6 PM, I thought I would get his opinion. He agreed that the problem was that the condensate wasn't draining. He was able to clear the conduit and get the HVAC system functional again. He, too, recommended the condensate pump. He, like the previous technician, explained how it works and what it does and what the installation would entail. I appreciate his willingness to answer all my questions. The system has been functioning ever since. But I check it frequently. I look forward to getting the pump installed.

Purchase a new unit about a month ago at a really good price with some really good financing for whatever reason It stopped cooling. I called the office and they send somebody within 10 to 12 hours and that technician fixed it perfectly. These guys are prompt, friendly, smart, and super capable.

Evan Young did a great job overseeing our recent install. Very knowledgeable and experienced. He was able to answer all of our questions and even steered us toward a less expensive system than we were originally considering because we won't be in this house much longer. When the other companies we called could barely answer our questions and wanted to sell us high end systems Evan and McCullough were the clear choice!

He caught a Freon leak in our ac coils that our usual hvac company didn’t catch, and he also came back to fix a relay issue on our condenser unit outside that again our usual hvac company didn’t fix nor catch .I would highly recommend McCulloch hvac and especially our technician Matt!

I had a great experience with McCullough for my HVAC replacement. They provided very clear estimates for different options. The installers, Ivan and Ricardo, were outstanding. I'd say they went above and beyond but I have a feeling this is just how they roll. They explained what they were doing as they went and had me look at the way they installed thing or make a decision on how I wanted something to look. Ian, the QC inspector made sure everything was working to my satisfaction including a tricky thermostat relocation.
My only gripe is dealing with Service Finance, the company McCullough uses for some financing, is a pain. They were calling constantly to ask if the project was complete, despite me telling them when the final inspections were planned. Not the worst thing but really annoying.
But the techs themselves and the service I received are top notch. And I'm happy to use them as my HVAC company of choice going forward.

Excellent service from McCullough and their technician Michael! McCullough kept me informed of the updated time period and Michael notified me when he was on his way. He listened to my concerns, carefully examined the unit, and was able to diagnose the problem with the capacitor. He had a matching part on his truck, and was able to quickly replace the capacitor. He followed up by double checking that my equipment was performing normally. I really appreciate the helpful, friendly service I received! Jaiden Mendez did a fantastic job. I scheduled an appointment with their AI bot on a Thursday night, for a Friday appointment. He came out, did a very thorough diagnostic of the outdoor ac unit, and indoor one in the attic. Checked everything you possibly could, and ruled out everything but the indoor attic blow motor. He left and 20 minutes later was back with a new unit. He was able to replace it within 30 minutes and my AC is running again. Many thanks and also thanks to Jaiden Mendez & The McCullough Team!

Bought a new HVAC system from McCullough last year. Eric S came out to address some noises it was making. He was extremely thorough, identified both issues, and completely resolved them. I have an old house built in 1960 and my indoor unit is in a closet. To remove condensation I have a sump pump below the closet. On many occasions the pump was running much longer than it had when it was first installed. Eric found that somehow some of the tubing to the sump pump had a kink in it. Instead of just straightening out the kink, he completely replaced the hose and secured it so it wouldn’t move in the future and kink up again. The other issue was a small but persistent noise that happened every time the fan came on. That seemed more difficult for him to identify the cause, but he eventually removed the entire fan and casing and found that a small piece of insulation had become lodged in the fan so it hit like a playing card on a kid’s bike wheel every time the fan turned on. I was so thankful that he was as diligent as he was. Both were minor but annoying issues. With my office right beside the hallway where the unit is, I know every sound that thing makes. And now, it is as quiet as a mouse! Thanks, Eric! AND, because I pay the monthly maintenance fee, even though I’ve had the system more than a year, the visit cost me nothing.

I had the best experience today! Called in at 9:30 this morning to set up an AC maintenance appointment. They had same-day availability and Brandon came out just after 5. He was awesome. Cleared a clog, recommended a new setting on my thermostat to reduce the humidity, serviced the outside unit and even disposed of a deceased rodent found in the attic (yikes!). He left everything super clean, spoke to me on my level and with respect, and the price was great. Now that summer is finally starting to heat up, I’m feeling confident in this AC staying on and staying cool.

I have used them a few times. First they were the best price and most professional for totally new duct work. Then they helped us out with a new blower motor. And most recently, McCullough checked out why the unit was leaking water and educated me about system upkeep.

Blake came out to fix my A/C after it stopped working during an extremely hot day. I called, and he arrived promptly. He was very friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to get everything working again.

He took the time to thoroughly explain what the problem was, what needed to be repaired, and answered all of my questions in a way that was easy to understand. I really appreciated how knowledgeable and patient he was throughout the entire process.

McCullough and Shawn May came through where 4 other companies failed and fixed some terrible whole-house vibrations caused by a faulty blower wheel. McCullough’s team was also very responsive and made scheduling/information gathering pretty painless. Great experience overall and will definitely be calling them for any future HVAC needs!

I have lived in my home for 20 years and recently had for the first time, a complete home plumbing inspection by James Farr from Mccullough. The inspection report was very valuable and informative. The plumbing was in much better condition than I was expecting. I was very happy and satisfied with the report. James did a very extensive look and testing of everything. His report included understandable assessments and a game plan with options for eventual improvements. James' demeanor was very friendly and professional.. I was not pressured at all to make any kind of immediate decisions which was so appreciated. I use Mccullough presently for my HVAC service and now do the same for plumbing services.

My first time working with McCullough, and it was an overall great experience. During the first heatwaves of this summer, my 6-year-old HVAC unit broke down, and I struggled to find an available company to inspect it within the same week. Understandably, it was a busy time of the season. After reading several positive reviews online, I reached out to McCullough.

Initially, I found the interaction with the AI voice to schedule an appointment a bit unusual, but I was pleasantly surprised by its accuracy. It quickly understood the problem and scheduled a next-day appointment within seconds. Technician Kyle Sterling arrived that day, and he truly deserves the praise for his work.

As someone with limited HVAC knowledge, Kyle took the time to explain the issues in detail, the necessary repairs, and the cost which was a better deal compared to a couple of other quotes I had received. Kyle’s expertise and attention to detail made the entire process smooth and informative, and I felt confident in his abilities.

He scheduled a day for repairs, returned with assistance, and completed the job as scheduled. Kyle even discovered an additional issue with the HVAC system (a faulty coolant valve) and didn’t charge me for it. He didn’t charge me for the repairs until everything was resolved and the unit was up and running.

Overall, it was a great experience. The repairs were fast, and the technician was excellent.

Blake took the time to show me the state of the inside of my coil and give me options for getting it cleaned. I ended up becoming a member because it is a very good value.

Miko was very thorough and courteous, put on protective booties when entering our home . Flushed the condensation line and checked all readings on the air handler and outside condenser unit. Miko also top the time to pair my phone withe the ecobee stat.

We had two issues emerge in our system. The first was a short in the compressor caused by ants getting inside the electronics panel requiring a connecter replacement. I called on Wednesday late in the day and Shawn came out first thing the next day explained the issue and fixed it. Very helpful.

Unfortunately our blower on the same zone indoor unit went out that weekend, possibly a coincidence or could be a short that fried a component - I called and asked to speak to a supervisor to understand the issues and he called quickly and was very helpful.

Jaiden the diagnosing tech on the blower was back out yesterday and installed the new part and gave me a heads up on other items to be aware of. Pricing is bundled for the parts and labor and based on my research was very fair. These systems break and having an existing relationship with a company w a maintenance program to me is essential so you can be prioritized during periods where things back up. McCulloch maintains the scale to support its client base. I appreciate that as they were there when I needed them.
