Thomas was great, he had our air-conditioning fixed in under an hour. He was a little delayed getting to our house, but it wasn’t his fault his work van had mechanical problems . I’m just glad he stuck to it.

Miko did a great job on our system yearly maintenance. Very polite and considerate of our home.

When our 5 ton Carrier unit stopped cooling, Michael Mctaggart got us up and running again. Skillful attention to detail!

There was an issue with the A/C after a recent repair by a different technician. Michael Mctaggart arrived the same day and had everything working perfectly again within two days including replacing parts that may have been damaged by the issue at no charge. McCullough took complete ownership for the issue and made it right.

The A/C squirrel cage fan had self destructed and blocked the blower motor with family visiting so we did an emergency service call to McCullough. Michael Mctaggart arrived the same day, diagnosed the issue, and then returned to replace the fan and blower motor. Everything is now working well thanks to his attention to detail and skill.

I highly recommend McCullough. I recently purchased a Carrier Infinity System with Greenspeed technology. I knew I wanted a variable speed system, but I had a lot of questions. Evan took the time to educate me on the technology, give me various options, and helped me make an informed decision without pressure. I got multiple bids, and ultimately McCullough was the best option. Our installers Ian and Ivan showed up on time, went over what they were going to do, and got everything done in a timely fashion. The system itself has been wonderful. The Infinity is so much quieter, and we can finally hear each other talking! Overall I'm satisfied with both the system and the service.

I have been using McCullough Heating and Air to provide my twice yearly maintenance for nearly 3 years. During the last 2 months I have had my unit serviced by Vlad for a drain clog and recently Jared for my annual maintenance. Both technicians did a great job and spent time servicing my unit despite that it happened to be late in the day. Both were professional in their demeanor and engaging. McCullough has given us great service for many years. Today's (2026-04-27) summer season inspection was exceptional in attention to detail. In addition to all the required checks and settings, they hosed off the compressor. They concluded with a review of photos of all critical parts and their manufacturer-documented settings, compared to today's actual readings. They were within tolerance throughout. Thank you! Quick and efficient service, well explained. Update 2024-11-05, Joe was most helpful with a quick and thorough seasonal inspection. He also gave great advice on when to repair our now aging system.

Outstanding in every way a customer could want or need! The Big 3 for me: Thrifty-Friendly & Quality. am a retired attorney. I research everything, big and small. I knew the issues with my HVAC would be big, so I chose 3 local contractors to diagnose and give me bids. One no longer was locally owned. McCullough was not only the best bid, they didn’t try to oversell what I needed to make my system run efficiently. I also liked the representative who came out, and every single individual I interacted with during the process. I was signing a document that needed two witness signatures and the installers even, happily did this for this for me! I started to have noise issues, they were prompt in sending a qualified technician, and flexible about scheduling around me, not themselves. It was discovered that the blower motor was out of line, (a lemon) they ordered the parts, had them the next day and got the job done-right-around my schedule. Telling me what to look for if I had any future concerns or problems. I paid 50% less than the other better known (by heavy advertising) local firm, got 100% customer service, from skilled and friendly technicians, and an exceptional labor and products warranty, without any additional cost. I got the peace of mind knowing that they would be here for as long as I or a subsequent owner needed me. Also, the guys in the photos are actually the guys who come out!

I have the Comfort Club Premium membership on several properties with McCullough. Smooth process, always show up and on time. Left my last company due to repeated rescheduling last minute for service appointments which is very difficult to manage with rental properties. So I'm glad I never have that problem with McCullough. Pricing is reasonable as well. Worked with Miko for the first time today. Very professional, made a recommendation. Normally I pass on recommendations, but because I enjoyed working with him so much I went for it! 🙂 Can always trust the work gets done efficiently and that I'm getting the value for what I pay for.

Blake was very courteous and efficient in performing the annual inspection of our A/C system, including indoor and outdoor components, and preventative clearing of the drain line with pressurized air.

The technician, Joshua was thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. This was an “introductory” visit addressing 3 systems and Joshua completely checked each system, both inside and outside. We are confident our HVAC systems are in good condition and ready for Texas summer.

Just had my Spring inspection with Lynell Greene of McCullough Heating and Air Conditioning. Although I had to replace a overflow safety switch, the seasonal inspection was great as usual. This HVAC system is primo. I love it! Lynell was efficient and very knowledgeable, answering any questions and providing information in a pleasant yet professional manner. At no time did I feel he was 'mansplaining'. McCullough has such nice Techs. Great staff, excellent products. Yes, I would definitely recommend McCullough. They are the best IMO.

Mike came over today and saved the day for our family, the units wasn’t working and Mike quickly identified the problem with my system, there was a rodent that had eaten the wires which he quickly redid the wiring then cleaned the coils and checked everything out. He also told me about it being a family owned and operated company and last one in austin I’m so glad and grateful mike and mcculough

McCullough Heating & Air Conditioning have been great to deal with. I purchased a new A/C and heating system from them in 2022. They were the only company out of several I contacted to give easy to understand options and were always accessible when I had follow up questions. Since then, I have been doing the twice a year maintenance. Today, Blake was the service technician who thoroughly and quickly came to do maintenance. He was great tondeal with. Anytime I am asked about my system, I am always happy to recommend McCullough Heating & Air Conditioning.

My AC wasn’t working and the solution wasn’t immediately apparent, but Sean committed to solving the problem. He knew his stuff, pulled in others when he needed to, and explained things well. UPDATE: Blake did my bi-annual checkup and did a phenomenal job. Knowledgeable, helped me understand the ins and outs of my system, and was incredibly kind.

We have been very satisfied with McCullough's service for over 20 years. We appreciate the membership plan and its perks. We contribute to KUTX 98.9 and appreciate when we hear McCullough mentioned on the radio as members and sponsors of some of their special programs. Everyone we have encountered over the years have been professional, skilled and a good representative for this company. We had our A/C maintenance scheduled. Blake was assigned to our call and texted us when enroute and arrived promptly. He explained the tasks he would perform and patiently answered all of our questions. He found a component that needed to be replaced on our 10 year old outside unit. This added a cost to the appointment but will no doubt prevent a potential outage this summer when nobody wants to be without AC. Blake got the component replaced and confirmed Unit was back in service and then finished the remaining tasks for the maintenance call. My wife Debie and I both enjoyed Blake's attitude and demeanor while he was providing our service. Thank you McCollough for having such competent and pleasant people on your staff and thank you again for supporting KUTX 98.9.

Meko was thorough, provided great service and gave a detailed explanation of service as well as additional information on options to extend the life of our ac unit.

The A/C coil blew out on my 15-year-old A/C. After much gnashing of teeth, I decided to just go ahead and get a whole new HVAC system installed. I got bids from 4 different companies, each one gave me good/better/best bids. So I had 12 bids to chose from. I chose McCullough's "better" bid because of several reasons: a very strong recommendation from a neighbor, as well as price and warranty. But also because my salesman/site crew manager Evan was super knowledgeable and extremely easy to work with. In fact, Evan very patiently answered every question I had with very thoughtful and thorough answers. Again, McCullough's prices were very good, and the warranty on the Carrier system I chose was excellent. Unfortunately the installation had, well, a major hiccup -- McCullough accidentally installed the wrong system. Yes, that's obviously a huge red flag to anyone reading this review. But let me tell you this -- McCullough totally owned up to their mistake, and they bent over backwards to absolutely ensure that I would be a happy customer. Of course they swapped out the wrong system and installed the correct one. All along the way, *everyone* from McCullough was super-apologetic and as professional as anyone I've ever had over to work on my house. So yes, in the end, I'm a happy camper. The new 2-stage Carrier system works great (both A/C and furnace), and I feel like I'm all set for the next 15-20 years of Austin weather. Big shout outs to the following: Evan my sales guy and crew manager, both Ian and Ivan who led the install(s) on the two systems, QC manager Jimmy, and QC newcomer Clayton. Also the guys on the crews, especially the 2 who had to come back to do some additional duct work (sorry, I don't remember their names). Is it weird that I gave these guys 5 stars? Yeah, probably. But I learned a long time ago that mistakes like this can and do happen. We're all only human, and we all make mistakes. I just happened to be the unlucky customer this time. But as long as companies like McCullough own up to their mistakes, I'm happy to recommend them. Plus, I get to tell everyone the story about the time I had two new HVAC systems installed in my home over the course of 7 days lol. Thanks for reading.

In addition to his technical expertise, Blake was most courteous and accommodating when on our premises, coordinating with both our household residents--and our sensitive pets!--while servicing our 2-story, dual-HVAC system McCullough installed in 2009. We very much appreciated Blake's professional and personable demeanor. And all systems were signed off good to go! We have kept annual service all years since our McCullough installation, and it has proved wise to do so.

Truly impressive attention to detail, professionalism, knowledge and respect for the customer's home. Richard Leyendecker and Arthur Villalobos did an incredible job installing a new system for my home. Even with very rainy conditions they were very diligent about keeping my home clean and did an incredible job on the installation and providing a thorough walk through of best practices to keeping it running like new for a long time. I reviewed 5 Austin area HVAC companies before selecting McCullough and am 100% confident I made the right choice. Evan Young on the quote side was wonderful to work with and provided quick responses to all of my questions. They were not the least expensive option but priced fairly and the work done by Richard and Arthur was well worth it.

My guy was quick and thorough. He has been with the company for 15 years. I have an agreement where they come spring and fall.

Finally an HVAC company that came up with an actual long term solution to what was causing continual issues with my air handler vs just putting an expensive bandaid on the issue just to come back every year. Dereck was on time, professional, efficient in his diagnosis and thought through a solution that no one else had suggested in 4 years of me owning the system. I will be switching my go to HVAC business to McCullough as I need long term solutions to address the core of the issue , not expensive temporary yearly services. Relieved I tried a new company this time around and called McCullough.

I recently had my annual A/C checkup done through McCullough's Comfort Club program, and was highly pleased with the work done by Jaiden Mendez. He spent around an hour looking at all aspects of the system, taking photos of the internal parts as well as external. Jaiden made suggestions on increasing the A/C's efficiency with a couple of parts, but he was not pushy. He provided a detailed inspection report as well as a list of the suggested parts and their cost. I appreciate how attentive to detail all the McCullough technicians have been over the years when it comes to our HVAC system, and Jaiden is right up there at the top.

Mike is great! I remembered a time when service providers actually came and spent time thoroughly doing their jobs and being technically proficient. Professional service level and expertise almost doesn't exist anymore. Everything is get done fast charge big amounts and get to the next job. Mike spent the proper time, did what was necessary and let us know if any potential issues down the road. I have a dwindling short list of companies that do this and these guys are on it.

Called with an emergency request (error code for blower failure). Though, he was unable to come that day, we arranged a plan and was able to determine the part was under warranty. He communicated with me on updates on parts and schedule. I appreciated his research and professionalism.

We have booked our yearly tune-up and review of our systems with McCullough. I called and scheduled the meeting and everything went smooth and well. The team showing up consisted of Thomas and Guillermo, which showed up on time and courteously called before hand. They both performed all necessary checks and answered, probably, a million stupid questions from my side (new to this whole process). They also took initiative to provide advice on taking care and doing routine maintenance work on our own to protect our system and take good care of it. I am so thankful the team servicing us is kind, patient, knowledgeable and willing to share their wisdom and advice. This is what customer service should be! Incredibly grateful for Joseph, Ryan and everyone else at the McCollough team. We had some issues with one of our A/C units in March which resulted in our upstairs A/C not working at all. We initially called Strand brothers and they quoted us $2410. They told us our coil needed to be replaced and the labor alone for that would cost over $2k. There was something fishy and predatory about our experience with strand (they were very pushy in trying to order the new coil and acted like it was a very urgent matter), so we wanted a second opinion. Thank God it was the McCollough team we called. Joseph came out to our house that day, worked on our unit for about 30 minutes, then came back and told us there was actually nothing wrong with our AC coil. He told us the issues he saw with it and fixed it immediately, restoring our AC that day itself. He told us it was an easy fix. His transparency and integrity prompted us to become members and pay a small monthly fee, so we could get preventative maintenance on our unit twice a year. Ryan came out to look at our AC unit that next week itself and repeated everything that Joseph found, there were no issues with our AC coil and suggested some work in order for us to elongate the life of our AC unit. The professionalism from everyone at the McCullough team really stands out. Go with them if you want genuine expertise and if you feel like other companies are trying to scam you out of your hard earned money. Thank you to the McCollough team for relieving our anxieties, restoring our comfort in our home and being so transparent in the work that you do. It doesn’t go unnoticed. We’ve always been with McCullough for our AC inspections. They have always been a great company to help us when we’re in need. We recently needed a brand new AC install due to our old one (13 years old) leaking. We went through 3 quotes with other companies, and Charles gave us the best deal for us. We had two great install technicians (Bryan and Justin) work all day to throughly finish the job, and even finding a manufacturer parts defect in the process. They ended up staying all the way till 8pm to walk through new thermostat and show us how to use it. Charles even came back to install some cover piping on the condenser unit to help prevent weather damage. Absolutely a great experience for us. We will continue to do business with McCullough for a long time.

Have always had a great experience with McCullough Heating and Air. Today was no exception. The Technician that came out today to do our semiannual maintenance was Blake. Blake was fantastic. Not only was he personable, professional and thorough, he is the only one (since I started using McCullough) that used shoe covers coming in and out of the house. He's also the only one that mentioned that I could replace my condensation drain lines with a condensate pump.

Mitchell is always personable and professional. McCullough has been doing a great job maintaining our system.

Mike was an absolutely stupendous technician. He came out to our property and quickly assessed that the system’s blower motor wasn’t operating at the correct speed. We had no idea the system‘s been that way since 2015. We are so happy to have had Mike come out and fix the system and not only that, but after he was extremely helpful and telling us how to make sure we increased the longevity of the equipment. And he did an extremely thorough cleaning of the outdoor unit we couldn’t believe how dirty it was. We are so grateful to have had like the service technician come out and service our equipment today thank you so much McCullough for sending him.

We have used this company two other times for complete AC and heater installs at other houses. They are professional and do a good job. We have felt their prices were competitive and fair. Their installers take care to keep the area clean with drop cloths and shoe covers. They wear masks and use good Covid precautions. We will continue to use their service. Update: McCullough tech, Mitchell Reaves, did our annual inspection of our heating/cooling system this week, He was efficient and pleasant. He checked out our two systems and answered all of my questions. This annual inspection was part of our contract for maintenance that we pay monthly and is reasonably priced. We will continue to use this company. Update: 4/26 Jayden with McCullough came out to troubleshoot an issue with my heating system. He was excellent. He took time to diagnose the issue, asked good questions, worked as long as he needed to fix the problem and then double checked both the AC and heating systems to make sure everything was working correctly. I was very impressed with him and hope I see him again the next time I need AC/heating service.

We had an emergency with our AC unit before going out of town, Sean was able to come over and resolve the issue super quick! Scheduling was frustrating due to their AI bot call system, but the humans doing the actual work were incredibly helpful. We will definitely be using this service again if an issue comes up, it would be much better without the AI though.

He also had a couple of great recommendations for maintaining my unit properly. ___________ In mid-March 2026, we replaced our 18-year old HVAC system with a Carrier two-stage HVAC model through McCullough. So far so good. Very impressed again with their rep (Peter) and their customer service. Peter also volunteered to file the city application for getting up a $600 rebate for us, due to the new system's energy efficiency. I also like the fact that McCullough is one of the few HVAC companies in the Austin metro area who is still owned locally, and haven't sold out to out-of-town private equity firms. So, the chance of their customer service suffering is very low, compared to their competitors.

He is always so thorough, friendly, helpful, and willing to answer any questions. I can honestly say that whenever he comes I have zero doubts or concerns about any maintenance, diagnostics, or repairs he has to do. Every time he comes, I know my systems are in great hands. He has even found issues that other techs overlooked, and went in to fix them. He will not accept anything less than perfect job done. He is seriously the best. I first had McCullough out to install a new heat pump HVAC system. I was very impressed with the job, they removed the old system and had the new one installed in the span of one day. Everything was clean and organized and it worked great. I decided to sign up for their monthly maintenance plan to get the free biannual checkups and priority service. A while later we were having some issues with the drain line getting clogged. It seemed that the particular grade of our house and this heat pump did not play nicely. So they suggested installing a Drain IV system (an automated system that drips a drain clearing chemical down the drain line). I liked the hands off idea and had them install it. 6 months later comes along and it’s time to refill the drain IV fluid. Well, I go online and it turns out it’s an extremely controlled product that only HVAC licensees have access to. McCullough initially gave an estimate to refill the fluid that was over $300. This is for a replacing a little bag that hangs off the side of the system, probably takes 10 minutes. I was a bit shell-shocked by the price so I called the office seeing if there was anything they could do to just get me the product myself so I could put in a new bag. My tech, Bryce, got with the managers and they decided to make a new line item in their invoicing system so they could sell me the bag without charging the hourly labor rate to install it. Then they drove out the refill and gave me the first one completely free of charge. I was very impressed with how they handled the situation, they were reasonable and took extra effort to accommodate me. Definitely a good company who’s willing to work with you and they don’t BS you.

I've been using McCullough for years and they are always prompt, friendly and do a great job. Unfortunately this weekend the condenser fan motor on my unit died. When I called, an actual person answered even though it was a Sunday morning. It sounded like they would've been able to send someone the same day if it was an emergency but I opted for the first time slot Monday morning. Craig showed up promptly at 8 am (and called shortly before) and took about an hour to diagnose the issue and replace the old rusty fan. The replacement was a tad expensive (a programmable, capacitor-less motor that could replace the motor on a variety of units) but Craig made short work of the replacement and also blew out the drain for no extra charge. Everything is working great now and I would recommend McCullough for their prompt and friendly service.

I would highly recommend using McCullough, specifically Jeff. I recently used them for an AC/heat inspection and they inspected my whole system and did a fantastic job. Jeff located an issue in my system and was able to repair it on the spot for a great price. He likely saved me thousands had the issue gone unchecked. Thanks Jeff! Today I had my bi-annual appointment with McCullough Heating and Air to make sure everything is working properly and ready for the summer. The technician that came out was Chris Miko. It was my first time working with him and I hope not the last. He was so kind, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about HVAC. He explained everything to me so well and made it very easy to understand because I don’t know much about HVAC. He went above and beyond for me by fixing something that was making my drip pan rust. I would have never known about it because I physically cannot get into my attic. He recommended a hard start kit to elongate the life of my compressor and possibly reduce my electric bill by a little bit. I agreed to it and had him install it before he left. It was very affordable because I’m a member. They give you great discounts when you’re a member. Chris also left my house spotless. He cleaned up after himself really well and was extremely respectful to both my wife and I. My dogs loved him too! I’m hoping that he can be my technician moving forward. I would highly recommend McCullough Heating and Air to all of my family and friends, in fact, I’ve had a few neighbors sign up because of my experience with them. I’d also suggest asking for Chris Miko because he’s the BEST technician I’ve had so far come out and inspect my equipment. His attention to detail was just impeccable and I really appreciated it.
