Jayden is prompt , punctual and honest . I got quotes from 3 different HVAC professionals for my AC issue, everyone else either misdiagnosed or pretended that more work was needed than actually required. Jayden was able to root cause exact issue and fix it with oem part in under 2 hours same day whereas 2 other companies who looked at AC quoted 5 day turnaround time for the part and 6 hour job , on a functioning part that did not need replacement. Will definitely recommend Jayden and McCullough heating and cooling to all for any HVAC issues .

Our AC was kicking on and off repeatedly, so we called McCullough who we have used before. A young repairman named Brandon Brown arrived in a timely fashion and once we described the symptoms, he pretty much knew exactly what to do. The condensation drain had plugged up, causing the AC to turn on and off. Brandon cleared it up quickly, only to have us call him back the next day when we discovered the drain was now leaking in our utility room (not his fault -- we blame our old house). Brandon quickly came up with a fast and relatively easy solution (that did not require us tearing out the cabinets in the utility room -- whew!). Brandon was friendly, smart, courteous, and explained the situations very well. I can't say enough about Brandon and McCullough. They are awesome.

We have had great experiences over the past couple of years, from sales and installation to annual inspection and maintenance; but this most recent service call came after one of our units stopped working—of course when it was over 100-degrees outside. Their fantastic tech Mike came out the same day we called. He quickly diagnosed the issues (one inside and one out), ordered the parts, and then came back and installed them the very next day and got everything up and running again. Kyle came by, trouble shot the problem in 30 mins. Ordered the part. Part was delivered to my home 3 days later. Kyle came back by, and replaced the part. All done in 2.5 hrs , blowing cold now. I can't say enough good things about Christian at McCullough Heating & Air. My upstairs AC went out, and another company told me I needed a full evaporator coil and compressor replacement, a quote north of $12,000. Something about that didn't sit right, so I called McCullough for a second opinion.

Christian came out, actually tested the system properly, and found the real issue in minutes. No upselling, just an honest diagnosis and a fast, correct fix.

It's rare to find a technician who takes the time to actually troubleshoot instead of jumping straight to the most expensive recommendation. Christian saved me thousands of dollars and a ton of stress. Highly recommend McCullough Heating & Air.

Sam was prompt and explained the issue. He also wore booties to keep the floor clean. This was a follow up for repairs the day before that had not fully fixed the problem. There was no charge for this follow up, bit the original repair was expensive. Not Sam's fault, though.

I previously posted a review but wanted to send another one as an update. Since my last review I’ve had them out several times for my annual spring and summer maintenance and they have been great. I also had them out to replace my water heater about a month ago and they were awesome. So with all the heat I called them late yesterday because my AC was struggling to keep the set temp and by early evening was 6-8 degrees higher than the 72 degrees set in the thermostat. I explained I had cooling so wasn’t an emergency but they were still our first thing the next day (this morning). Craig was extremely nice and he checked everything thoroughly. I had my annual maintenance done really early in March and Craig found that the coils were dirty. His boss approved to have them cleaned under warranty from my maintenance in March even though there was nothing to prove they just hadn’t gotten dirty in the months following that. I really appreciated it. So everything seems to be working fine now. Again they are just so responsive and seem focused on their customers. I highly recommend them.

Mike was great! Moved around his schedule to get my AC fixed when it gave out on a 100 degree day. Quick service got everything working again. Definitely recommend.

We have had an incredibly reassuring experience with McCullough Heating and Air.
Our A/C system went out one year ago during a hot Texas summer. After receiving several bids they were far and away the best deal for the system we wanted. They were able to come out and replace our system promptly and most recently helped get our compressor in compliance with the city codes since we are in a flood plane. They went above and beyond in making sure we were taken care of. We are also on their monthly maintenance plan that takes all of the stress away from the upkeep of the system.
I have recommended them to my colleagues who have also had similar experiences!

Ryan Lake was exceptionally helpful and explained things thoroughly items l was not aware of/did not know. Personable, professional, courteous, I just can’t say enough. I am in hopes l can request my next maintenance service with him. Definitely takes pride in his work and it shows.

We called McCullough on this January 2026 crazy weather day because our heater stopped working. Our technician was Craig and he was very knowledgeable, polite and with a great sense of humor. He did a great job. From our experience, everyone at McCollough is great and very professional starting with Eric who answered the phone.
I really recommend this place.

Matthew is the kind person & technician you want to service your HVAC system. He's very professional, proficient & just an individual I feel I can trust. Not trying to upsell you anything you don't need but offering services that might benefit us, customers. He fixed our AC promptly & advised me how to set up the thermostat the right way. Hope we can request for Matthew next time our system needs fixing or maintenance.

Sam was great. Always had great experience with McCullough. Only complaint is that they’re obviously using a LLM to handle bookings over the phone.

Above and beyond service on a Sunday

Great experience. Troubleshot and fixed an AC issue in my hot house with an old system. Got it fixed at a good cost. Smooth, easy and professional. Ryan was my tech and answered my questions.

Brandon is, by far, the best service provider I have ever dealt with in Central Austin. He was thoroughly knowledgeable, sensitive to customer concerns (including price), committed to "getting to the bottom" of the issue, even when it took far longer (including a return visit) than anticipated. He was prompt, polite, courteous, a timely and clear communicator, and even encouraged follow-up communication after a visit so he could monitor whether the system was then working properly. Amazing! He is the best possible advertisement for McCullough! A real "keeper."

The company and technician (Shawn) communicated multiple times to convey arrival time and other information. The technician was friendly and showed me what was wrong with the AC (bad capacitor) and replaced it. He checked the rest of the AC system to verify it was functioning properly, also.

We have been very pleased with services provided by McCullough.

AC went out at 9 in the morning in the middle of summer, and by 1230 they had someone out to check it out and fix the problem. Sam Marquez was my technician and he went above and beyond to get my AC fixed.

I've been trying to keep an older unit alive and the McCullough team went above and beyond. Michael came out, first thing in the morning, found and fixed the issues within an hour. He explained everything in detail and taught me a few things about my unit. Super pleased!

He checked my a/c unit to diagnose the symptoms based on the state of the equipment, and presented repair options in a clear way. Michael came in today fix my air conditioning system cell blast and so grateful to have such a knowledgeable technician to come in and be here he did a great job and I'm so happy to have macola employee a person like him please send him back in the future to fix all of my air conditioning needs.

Another company told me I had to replace my entire unit because they couldn’t figure out why my drain pan was holding water constantly…obviously it’s the main line…the other company cleared the lines (but didn’t) and said that the only solution was replacement of entire system quoting changes in refrigerant.
McCullough came in and saw that the drain line was blocked from inside unit because of faulty installation leaving materials in unit. So the cleaned the line correctly and opened the plenum to see the issue. They redid the lines and added floats that were faulty and ‘snaked’ the lines rather than some CO2 cartridge cleaning….completely comprehensive. They fixed it and saved me money…A LOT OF MONEY - didn’t need a replacement just someone who can diagnosis a problem. They charge a fair price and instantly earned a customer for life.
If you are looking for honesty….and a fair price - this is your people. Oh, and they took pictures and videos and explained everything as well as share it with me…professional, knowledgeable, and fair pricing. Highly recommend with absolutely no doubt….

Had an issue that we noticed around 10 PM at night then we had Blake one of the top HVAC technicians come out and assess The situation. He was very professional and explained everything about what was going on. We appreciate the Promptness since it’s over 100° in Austin at this time in summer.

I needed someone to help me quickly resolve a condensation issue that was detected by our buyer's inspection. McCullough was able to come out the same morning and do an inspection. My technician Ryan was able to quickly find an unsealed joint between the duct and drywall at the moist register and sealed it for me. He completed this service and thoroughly inspected my HVAC equipment (per my request) while tidying and cleaning behind himself everywhere he went. I paid less than $150 for the entire service. I told him I was happy to pay more for the value of service I received but he politely declined. Ryan could not have been more professional and polite. A massive thank you to McCullough and Ryan!

I called McCullough for estimate for new system and their representative Kelvin suggested checking for repair first and setup us for repair service call.

Mathew came for repair, he checked what parts (compressor, inverter board) had to be replaced, got them from Carrier the same day and installed them and fixed the system in the same day (and much less than the cost that other service was quoting).

Brandon came out in the afternoon but we had to let the system thaw out. Brandon met with me early the next morning at 730am to check the everything and get the system up and running. Josh was great at explaining what the AC issues were, and did attempt to blow out the clogged line.Unfortunately it was a main line clog and required a plumber to complete the fix. The price was a little high since I had to add a plumber’s labor to the overall cost, but it was an after hours service call we were glad could be made.

Christian was knowledgeable and provided a detailed explanation of why the AC unit wasn't cooling well. Before any repairs were approved, he gave me pricing so I could decide whether I wanted to proceed. $582 for a refrigerant leak search and $196 per lb for refrigerant. This is my first time dealing with AC issues, so I'm not sure whether the price is good or high. Overall, Christian was efficient and provided excellent customer service. Thank you!

I had a problem of water collecting in my AC pan and called McCullough HVAC who had installed the system last October. Jaiden Mendez was sent out to diagnose the issue. He initially informed me that he wasn’t sure what was causing the water to accumulate but he had tried something—he told me to keep an eye on it and call back if it continued to leak water into the pan. Sure enough—the problem persisted so Jaiden came back out and pretty much disassembled the whole attic unit looking for a solution. He finally diagnosed a faulty part and said he would order one and hopefully be able to install it in a few days. He then reassembled everything so I had a working HVAC until then. A few days later Jaiden was back working for hours in my hot cramped attic installing the new part. I’m happy to report my pan is now dry as a bone. I really appreciate Jaiden for persevering and diagnosing a difficult problem and following through to get it quickly repaired. He also did a great job of cleaning up after himself. Thanks Jaiden!!

Will did an excellent job performing my first plumbing evaluation on my home as part of my comfort club membership. I got my preferred first AM slot. He called me when he was on his way, so I would be prepared. He did his work in a timely manner, and was very efficient. When he was done he came to me and explained what he did and gave me recommendations. I ended up taking all of his recommendations and he performed the work in a timely manner.

Sam did a great job diagnosing my AC and doing a tune up. He also gave a thorough explanation of doing preventative maintenance for a capacitor that was right at tolerance.

I needed a complete HVAC replacement as well as hot water heater. I got a very quick visit from Peter D'Andrea, the same day. He was incredibly nice, knowledgeable and professional. I got a great quote the same day too.

As it turned out, I went with another company for a few reasons, but I'd be quick to use McCullough again as I was very impressed with them.

I was out of town and was contacted by my Nest thermostat that the system was running but the temperature was not dropping. Before leaving town I had noticed the compressor was making an unusual and louder than normal noise. I was preparing myself for the possibility of having to replace the compressor or the entire outside unit.

Today Sam Marquez came and diagnosed the problem as a failed capacitor. He replaced it and the unit is now my 10-year old unit is cooling just fine. I was mentally prepared to pay 10-15 times more than I had to.

When our air conditioning went out, a different company quoted us more than $15,000 for a full system replacement, saying they were not able to order the parts for our system at a reasonable price or in a timely manner. Matthew was great. He didn't try to sell me a replacement for my 18 year old system, but set right to work evaluating it. After an hour or so of work, things are back up and working. It's great to have a tech and a company that want to solve problems and not just push new equipment.

I previously gave a good review to McCullough. Unfortunately I have to reverse that review. AFTER spending close to $3000, the repair didn't even last a month. We are back to square one with a new estimate of $6000 plus to fix my home AC. At first the technician who worked on the AC unit said it was hard to find the spot where the refrigerant was leaking. After supposedly fixing that leak, another leak was discovered by a 3rd McCullough technician when called to check the AC unit less than 5 weeks later. Now the price is $6000 plus with no mention of the poor workmanship done previously or the money that I paid. There isn't even any warranty for their service. I have no intention of employing the services of this company anymore.

Had another fantastic experience with McCullough! Upstairs A/C went out. Called the automated system, set up service call, here within 24 hours. Technician Eric Suarez was a rock star! Diagnosed the issue within about 20 minutes after a thorough inspection. Lucky for us it was a fixable issue that he had parts for in his truck. He replaced the parts, performed a complete working assessment and has done in under a hour. He was super professional and courteous. A really genuinely nice person too. Super happy with Eric’s service! Y’all need to take good care of him at McCullough!

AC cycling on and off. Mike came out and quickly identified the issue (clogged drain line). He cleaned it out and also inspected the rest of the system and found it in good shape, just down one pound of refrigerant. Didn’t end up using McCullough though I wished I did, as they could have gotten parts faster but were honest about repairs needed and similar costs as Stan’s (Stan’s a couple hundred dollars cheaper, but took almost a week to get parts). Cheaper isn’t always better when you’re hot and have no AC. Recommend McCullough for honest quotes and helpful techs that won’t try to scam you.

I contacted McCullough to have my aging hot water heater assessed and get replacement quotes for a new one. They sent their delightful plumber Matej Bzdil out to do the job. Matej throughly checked out my existing set up and explained what kind of replacement options were available to me. We then discussed the rest of my plumbing and any concerns I had, Matej even assessed water pressure and cleaned out the aerators in my faucets as we progressed through the house. Matej was not trying to sell me anything or find additional work for himself, he was genuinely interested in understanding me and my plumbing set up. He was unhurried and patiently answered all of my questions. It was a breath of fresh air after dealing with so many plumbers over the years who immediately begin with a fear mongering campaign/high pressure sales pitch. I never thought I would look forward to working with a plumber but here I am! Matej and I also discovered a mutual love of Boxer dogs and Austin Boxer Rescue, which always earns extra points in my book! McCoullough is a family owned company and it shows in every interaction I’ve had with them, both plumbing and HVAC. Are they the cheapest option? No, but you know what, I’ll gladly take my savings in quality workmanship and ethical business standards.

Understand that I am classified as elderly by age. My house is 75 years old. I have lived here 32 years. Within 5 years of moving in, I bought a new Goodman system which lasted > 20 years. I bought this new system last September. So when my HVAC unit was no longer functional at 2:30 PM on Saturday, I started making calls. First I called the company that installed the unit September of 2025. They only had a recording that said they'd be open on Monday. I had had a problem in April. That company did respond and cleared out the condensation conduit, a problem which I'd never had with the old system. The unit worked fine until Saturday. So I started calling HVAC repair companies. Another company responded that they could come between 8:00 PM and 12 midnight. They responded and indeed, discovered it was the clogged condensate conduit. However, he was unable to definitively locate the terminus of the line, which was understandable. Nor was he able to clear the conduit. He recommended the condensate pump. He, too, did satisfactory work. I lost track of all the calls I had made, so when Josh said he was on the way on Sunday ~6 PM, I thought I would get his opinion. He agreed that the problem was that the condensate wasn't draining. He was able to clear the conduit and get the HVAC system functional again. He, too, recommended the condensate pump. He, like the previous technician, explained how it works and what it does and what the installation would entail. I appreciate his willingness to answer all my questions. The system has been functioning ever since. But I check it frequently. I look forward to getting the pump installed.

Purchase a new unit about a month ago at a really good price with some really good financing for whatever reason It stopped cooling. I called the office and they send somebody within 10 to 12 hours and that technician fixed it perfectly. These guys are prompt, friendly, smart, and super capable.

I had a great experience with McCullough for my HVAC replacement. They provided very clear estimates for different options. The installers, Ivan and Ricardo, were outstanding. I'd say they went above and beyond but I have a feeling this is just how they roll. They explained what they were doing as they went and had me look at the way they installed thing or make a decision on how I wanted something to look. Ian, the QC inspector made sure everything was working to my satisfaction including a tricky thermostat relocation.
My only gripe is dealing with Service Finance, the company McCullough uses for some financing, is a pain. They were calling constantly to ask if the project was complete, despite me telling them when the final inspections were planned. Not the worst thing but really annoying.
But the techs themselves and the service I received are top notch. And I'm happy to use them as my HVAC company of choice going forward.

Jaiden Mendez did a fantastic job. I scheduled an appointment with their AI bot on a Thursday night, for a Friday appointment. He came out, did a very thorough diagnostic of the outdoor ac unit, and indoor one in the attic. Checked everything you possibly could, and ruled out everything but the indoor attic blow motor.
