I recently had my annual A/C checkup done through McCullough's Comfort Club program, and was highly pleased with the work done by Jaiden Mendez. He spent around an hour looking at all aspects of the system, taking photos of the internal parts as well as external. Jaiden made suggestions on increasing the A/C's efficiency with a couple of parts, but he was not pushy. He provided a detailed inspection report as well as a list of the suggested parts and their cost. I appreciate how attentive to detail all the McCullough technicians have been over the years when it comes to our HVAC system, and Jaiden is right up there at the top.

Miko provided excellent, courteous, professional, expert service. He took the time to thoroughly and clearly answer my questions about my new Infinity system’s humidity control and confirmed that everything was working correctly.

Mike is great! I remembered a time when service providers actually came and spent time thoroughly doing their jobs and being technically proficient. Professional service level and expertise almost doesn't exist anymore. Everything is get done fast charge big amounts and get to the next job. Mike spent the proper time, did what was necessary and let us know if any potential issues down the road. I have a dwindling short list of companies that do this and these guys are on it.

Called with an emergency request (error code for blower failure). Though, he was unable to come that day, we arranged a plan and was able to determine the part was under warranty. He communicated with me on updates on parts and schedule. I appreciated his research and professionalism.

I had a damaged and inoperable HVAC system caused by an incompetent contractor, and I needed help fast. Eric S. from McCullough was able to quickly come out and repair the damage. We have booked our yearly tune-up and review of our systems with McCullough. I called and scheduled the meeting and everything went smooth and well. The team showing up consisted of Thomas and Guillermo, which showed up on time and courteously called before hand. They both performed all necessary checks and answered, probably, a million stupid questions from my side (new to this whole process). They also took initiative to provide advice on taking care and doing routine maintenance work on our own to protect our system and take good care of it. Incredibly grateful for Joseph, Ryan and everyone else at the McCollough team. We had some issues with one of our A/C units in March which resulted in our upstairs A/C not working at all. We initially called Strand brothers and they quoted us $2410. They told us our coil needed to be replaced and the labor alone for that would cost over $2k. There was something fishy and predatory about our experience with strand (they were very pushy in trying to order the new coil and acted like it was a very urgent matter), so we wanted a second opinion. Thank God it was the McCollough team we called. Joseph came out to our house that day, worked on our unit for about 30 minutes, then came back and told us there was actually nothing wrong with our AC coil. He told us the issues he saw with it and fixed it immediately, restoring our AC that day itself. He told us it was an easy fix. His transparency and integrity prompted us to become members and pay a small monthly fee, so we could get preventative maintenance on our unit twice a year. Ryan came out to look at our AC unit that next week itself and repeated everything that Joseph found, there were no issues with our AC coil and suggested some work in order for us to elongate the life of our AC unit. The professionalism from everyone at the McCullough team really stands out. Go with them if you want genuine expertise and if you feel like other companies are trying to scam you out of your hard earned money. Thank you to the McCollough team for relieving our anxieties, restoring our comfort in our home and being so transparent in the work that you do. It doesn’t go unnoticed. We’ve always been with McCullough for our AC inspections. They have always been a great company to help us when we’re in need. We recently needed a brand new AC install due to our old one (13 years old) leaking. We went through 3 quotes with other companies, and Charles gave us the best deal for us. We had two great install technicians (Bryan and Justin) work all day to throughly finish the job, and even finding a manufacturer parts defect in the process. They ended up staying all the way till 8pm to walk through new thermostat and show us how to use it. Charles even came back to install some cover piping on the condenser unit to help prevent weather damage. Absolutely a great experience for us. We will continue to do business with McCullough for a long time.

Have always had a great experience with McCullough Heating and Air. Today was no exception. The Technician that came out today to do our semiannual maintenance was Blake. Blake was fantastic. Not only was he personable, professional and thorough, he is the only one (since I started using McCullough) that used shoe covers coming in and out of the house. He's also the only one that mentioned that I could replace my condensation drain lines with a condensate pump.

Mitchell is always personable and professional. McCullough has been doing a great job maintaining our system.

We received excellent service from Thomas Ischy. He went above and beyond with servicing our system. We are very pleased with the outstanding work Thomas provided. Thank you Thomas and McCullough!

Mike was an absolutely stupendous technician. He came out to our property and quickly assessed that the system’s blower motor wasn’t operating at the correct speed. We had no idea the system‘s been that way since 2015. We are so happy to have had Mike come out and fix the system and not only that, but after he was extremely helpful and telling us how to make sure we increased the longevity of the equipment. And he did an extremely thorough cleaning of the outdoor unit we couldn’t believe how dirty it was. We are so grateful to have had like the service technician come out and service our equipment today thank you so much McCullough for sending him.

Mike did a fantastic job diagnosing my A/C and educating me on how to maintain it. I had two other companies look at it before, and what they considered a problematic and potentially costly issue was easily resolved by Mike at no additional charge. I’d highly recommend him!

We have used this company two other times for complete AC and heater installs at other houses. They are professional and do a good job. We have felt their prices were competitive and fair. Their installers take care to keep the area clean with drop cloths and shoe covers. They wear masks and use good Covid precautions. We will continue to use their service. Update: McCullough tech, Mitchell Reaves, did our annual inspection of our heating/cooling system this week, He was efficient and pleasant. He checked out our two systems and answered all of my questions. This annual inspection was part of our contract for maintenance that we pay monthly and is reasonably priced. We will continue to use this company. Update: 4/26 Jayden with McCullough came out to troubleshoot an issue with my heating system. He was excellent. He took time to diagnose the issue, asked good questions, worked as long as he needed to fix the problem and then double checked both the AC and heating systems to make sure everything was working correctly. I was very impressed with him and hope I see him again the next time I need AC/heating service.

Just had McCullough replace my entire HVAC system and I’m impressed. The sales process w/ Charles was smooth and he clearly knew more about his products than the 3 other competitors I had quote me. We had an emergency with our AC unit before going out of town, Sean was able to come over and resolve the issue super quick! Scheduling was frustrating due to their AI bot call system, but the humans doing the actual work were incredibly helpful. We will definitely be using this service again if an issue comes up, it would be much better without the AI though.

He also had a couple of great recommendations for maintaining my unit properly. ___________ In mid-March 2026, we replaced our 18-year old HVAC system with a Carrier two-stage HVAC model through McCullough. So far so good. Very impressed again with their rep (Peter) and their customer service. Peter also volunteered to file the city application for getting up a $600 rebate for us, due to the new system's energy efficiency. I also like the fact that McCullough is one of the few HVAC companies in the Austin metro area who is still owned locally, and haven't sold out to out-of-town private equity firms. So, the chance of their customer service suffering is very low, compared to their competitors.

I have been using McCullough for a long time across multiple house, and one of the main reasons I’ve stayed with them so long is Kyle. He has come to my houses for years. He is always so thorough, friendly, helpful, and willing to answer any questions. I can honestly say that whenever he comes I have zero doubts or concerns about any maintenance, diagnostics, or repairs he has to do. Every time he comes, I know my systems are in great hands. He has even found issues that other techs overlooked, and went in to fix them. He will not accept anything less than perfect job done. He is seriously the best. I can’t say enough good things about him. I highly recommend McCullough and do whatever you can to get Kyle to come out for your jobs.

I first had McCullough out to install a new heat pump HVAC system. I was very impressed with the job, they removed the old system and had the new one installed in the span of one day. Everything was clean and organized and it worked great. I decided to sign up for their monthly maintenance plan to get the free biannual checkups and priority service. A while later we were having some issues with the drain line getting clogged. It seemed that the particular grade of our house and this heat pump did not play nicely. So they suggested installing a Drain IV system (an automated system that drips a drain clearing chemical down the drain line). I liked the hands off idea and had them install it. 6 months later comes along and it’s time to refill the drain IV fluid. Well, I go online and it turns out it’s an extremely controlled product that only HVAC licensees have access to. McCullough initially gave an estimate to refill the fluid that was over $300. This is for a replacing a little bag that hangs off the side of the system, probably takes 10 minutes. I was a bit shell-shocked by the price so I called the office seeing if there was anything they could do to just get me the product myself so I could put in a new bag. My tech, Bryce, got with the managers and they decided to make a new line item in their invoicing system so they could sell me the bag without charging the hourly labor rate to install it. Then they drove out the refill and gave me the first one completely free of charge. I was very impressed with how they handled the situation, they were reasonable and took extra effort to accommodate me. Definitely a good company who’s willing to work with you and they don’t BS you.

I've been using McCullough for years and they are always prompt, friendly and do a great job. Unfortunately this weekend the condenser fan motor on my unit died. When I called, an actual person answered even though it was a Sunday morning. It sounded like they would've been able to send someone the same day if it was an emergency but I opted for the first time slot Monday morning. Craig showed up promptly at 8 am (and called shortly before) and took about an hour to diagnose the issue and replace the old rusty fan. The replacement was a tad expensive (a programmable, capacitor-less motor that could replace the motor on a variety of units) but Craig made short work of the replacement and also blew out the drain for no extra charge. Everything is working great now and I would recommend McCullough for their prompt and friendly service.

I would highly recommend using McCullough, specifically Jeff. I recently used them for an AC/heat inspection and they inspected my whole system and did a fantastic job. Jeff located an issue in my system and was able to repair it on the spot for a great price. He likely saved me thousands had the issue gone unchecked. Thanks Jeff! Update March 2026: My AC was taking a long time to cool my home, so I called McCullough again. Kyle came out and diagnosed the issue, laid out my options and prices. Today I had my bi-annual appointment with McCullough Heating and Air to make sure everything is working properly and ready for the summer. The technician that came out was Chris Miko. It was my first time working with him and I hope not the last. He was so kind, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about HVAC. He explained everything to me so well and made it very easy to understand because I don’t know much about HVAC. He went above and beyond for me by fixing something that was making my drip pan rust. I would have never known about it because I physically cannot get into my attic. He recommended a hard start kit to elongate the life of my compressor and possibly reduce my electric bill by a little bit. I agreed to it and had him install it before he left. It was very affordable because I’m a member. They give you great discounts when you’re a member. Chris also left my house spotless. He cleaned up after himself really well and was extremely respectful to both my wife and I. My dogs loved him too! I’m hoping that he can be my technician moving forward. I would highly recommend McCullough Heating and Air to all of my family and friends, in fact, I’ve had a few neighbors sign up because of my experience with them. I’d also suggest asking for Chris Miko because he’s the BEST technician I’ve had so far come out and inspect my equipment. His attention to detail was just impeccable and I really appreciated it.

JUST GO WITH MCCULLOUGH!! They were $2k+ less than Austin Air Conditioning and Radiant for a 2 ton 2-stage system. Evan is great, doesn't try to give you the hard sell. He provided a lot of information to make me feel good about my decision. Brian and Justin did the install and worked super hard all day to get it done. 2-stage system is awesome!! So much better than our previous 2.5 ton single stage Goodman. Very happy with McCullough and will recommend them to friends and family in the future

Our air conditioner system just completed the annual service by Christopher Miko with McCullough. He was very thorough in checking and documenting all the system component parameters to insure trouble free operation. I highly recommend Christopher and McCullough for a HVAC checkup.

Tech was respectful of my property and of me, wearing appropriate PPE and social distancing. He explained everything and followed up with a detailed report. No high pressure. I will certainly recommend them to others. Update: McCullough just installed an entirely new system for me. They arrived shortly after I called and brought a window unit for my bedroom to use until my system was in. Had done my research and Alex suggested exactly what my research indicated I needed. The installation was scheduled for the next morning, Saturday, and the installers followed safety protocols. So grateful for them going all out to help me. They were exceptional and I recommend them highly and in fact already have. Update: Thomas installed my new thermostat as scheduled and made sure all was functioning properly before he left. Still recommending them to family and friends. Update: Jaiden did a great job. He was prompt, respectful of my home and provided me with a detailed report of his work and findings. Mike, the service technician, was super professional, explained everything thoroughly, and answered all of my questions. He even put on boot covers without my even asking! I'm hoping I get him for all of my service/maintenance calls.

I am incredibly impressed with McCullough Heating & Air and their service technicians. They installed a new HVAC system almost 2 years ago, while I was taking care of my mother with Alzheimer’s, in my home. The sales rep Chris (a former technician) went to the office, came back & installed the part to temporarily cool my house while we waited 2 days for our installation. When the new unit was being installed, the two service technicians were very respectful of a 90+ woman resting at home. This morning we had James P. come over to conduct a summer check up on our system. Once again in awe of professional behavior and his gentle calm presence in our home. I wouldn’t imagine using any other company!

When we had our new outside unit installed in the Spring, Joey saved us by recommending that we do so...thank goodness with the Summer that came! We had our fall ac/heater checkup & our service tech, James P. was OUTSTANDING! He called me 30 minutes before, was on time, answered my questions, was very professional & personable. I highly recommend this company.

Brian came out today on2/24/26 to check on our ac. He was very through, checking everything out & removing the leaves from the outside unit. He told me about a treatment to spray into the vents that we may do.

Eric is the best and most informative technician from Mc Cullough that has ever serviced my s/c-heating system

So happy to have had my AC problem resolved in the same day! Discovered my thermostat was dead in the morning, and had everything up and running, including a bew pump installation, by two.

Turns out I just needed some triple A batteries 😄. These guys have always gone all out for my HVAC system. In the last couple of months I must have met six or seven techs. The system is old but we've found the problem.

Update: McCullough just installed an entirely new system for me. They arrived shortly after I called and brought a window unit for my bedroom to use until my system was in. Had done my research and Alex suggested exactly what my research indicated I needed. The installation was scheduled for the next morning, Saturday, and the installers followed safety protocols. So grateful for them going all out to help me. They were exceptional and I recommend them highly and in fact already have.
Update: Thomas installed my new thermostat as scheduled and made sure all was functioning properly before he left. Still recommending them to family and friends.

I recently had my AC fan replaced and had a great experience with Shawn May at McCullough Heating & Air Conditioning. I had a few suspicions about what was causing the issue and initially thought I might need my evaporator coil cleaned, especially after another (different) company pointed me in the wrong direction. Shawn took the time to walk through my concerns, clearly explain the diagnostics, and show why the fan motor was the actual problem. I appreciated how transparent he was about the pricing and repair options. They were responsive, professional, and applied the initial diagnostic fee toward the repair, which I felt was solid customer service. Overall, I was impressed with Shawn and the team at McCullough and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again for future HVAC needs.

After the mild winter storm of 2026, Peter and Eric helped me out with diagnosing what went wrong with my HVAC system. They were both able to come out quickly to help me and were very knowledgeable. Eric helped me made sure I put my new air filter correctly while Peter shared all about how my HVAC system works. Peter succinctly explained what type of HVAC system I have, gave fun facts such as because my system was in an insulated attic, he knew my system was electric and not gas. While explaining the replacement process, Peter was friendly and did not push for me to buy a new system and explained all the pros and cons of each to help me make an informed decision. I had a great experience with McCullough.

Jaiden came by right on time and was very thorough looking over my system. He was straight forward and gave me a good run down on the health of my AC system with recommendations.

Because I bought my home unit from them a few years ago, I recently had them install a minisplit for my re-vamped shed. Evan was great, very responsive and great communication! I continue to be a fan of McCullough 🙂

After a search of companies in the Austin area, I chose McCullough Heating and Air because of reviews and the fact that it is a family-owned business. I'm glad I did! I was thoroughly impressed by Mike M., the service technician who diagnosed and performed the repairs. His knowledge, integrity, and professionalism were very evident to me by the time he finished the work. McCullough is a top shelf company. Their technician EJ Pittaway did an excellent job solving and repairing my A/C problems. I called on a Sunday, made an appointment for Monday and was fixed by that early afternoon.

My techs Kyle and Randy were top notch. Best service in town for Carrier systems!
